Post your favorite Songs.

Oh yes I do remember the Bay City Rollers. I was in the mid teen and wasn't a big fan of them but I do like some of their songs like 'Give a Little Love' and 'Rock n Roll Love Letter'. During that time, I was fans of Slade, Suzi Quatro and Kiss when they started out. I like the disco to heavy rock. Now that I am older, those has become classic rock of the 70's. :P

I also liked Slade and Suzi Quatro (I especially like her song "Stumblin' In").

As for Kiss, my sister used to be a huge fan of theirs and used to attend all of their concerts. I remember her telling me they wore makeup all over their faces and as a small child, that scared me a bit.

I was a child of the 70s, a teen of the 80s and 80s music is already considered "classic." Makes me feel old. Oh well. I knew it would happen someday. :giggle:

Speaking of 70s music, what do you think of the Bay City Rollers? One of my favorite songs by them is "Saturday Night."

That's another one of my favorite songs! It's. also one of several songs that I've taught myself to sign.
"S-A-T-U-R-D-A-Y, night!!"
Lol.

You can sign "Saturday Night" in ASL? Cool! :D

Yeah, although a lot of it may be grammatically incorrect, lol. I try my best to make it as ASL as possible. I've learned to sign a lot of other songs too. I've even got a separate playlist on my iPod for them. Some of them are:

We can work it out, Let it be- The Beatles
Lean on me- Bill Withers
Dancing Queen- ABBA
A lover's concerto- The Toys
Disappointed- Morissey
More than words- Extreme
Let's work together- Canned Heat
Baby now that I found you- The Foundations
Killing me softly with his song- Roberta Flack
Cruel to be kind- Nick Lowe
:)

Oh wow, society's child. Some of the songs you mentioned that I'd love to have someone sign to me in ASL are "Dancing Queen" (I love that song!), "More Than Words" (I love this song too!), "Killing Me Softly with His Song" and "Cruel to Be Kind." (I...do I even have to say it?).

I'll never forget the time when I attended my first AADB (American Association of the Deaf-Blind) convention when my tactile terp and I went to a bar one night. They were playing country music, so she started signing all of the songs to me in ASL while I had one hand placed on the stereo speaker so I could feel the vibrations. It was an *awesome* experience because her signing allowed me to fully understand the flow and rhythm of each song.

After I came home from the convention and played my music using direct audio input (DAI) through my hearing aids, I started crying because all I could hear was percussion and some male vocals depending on how much they overlapped instruments and keyboards.

During the entire time I've used sign, I've never had anyone do something like that for me. It was one of the neatest experiences I've ever had. :D

That sounds like an amazing, experience, Hear Again! Wow, the interpreter must have been really skilled to convey the feeling and emotion in every song. :)

" HOW FAR WILL YOU GO? " By Kip Winger

First season alone
Drinking dirty water
Forced out of her home
No rich man's daughter
Now she braves the cold
But fears the loneliness
I don't blame her

And I know this means nothing to ya
And I know this don't belong to ya
Ain't there anything left inside us?

How far will we go
To send them all to heaven

Daddy's digging for gold
But the alley ain't feedin'
Three kids of his own
His job said they didn't need him

Don't these people mean nothing to ya
Don't these people still belong to ya
Ain't there anything left inside us?

How far will we go
To send them all to heaven

Don't you know we could live together
Don't you know we could give together
Ain't there anything left inside your heart?
Don't these people still belong to ya
How far will we go
Ain't there anything left inside my heart?

Tonight I celebrate my love - By Roberta Flack and Peabo Bryan

Tonight I celebrate my love for you
It seems the natural thing to do

Tonight no one's gonna find us
We'll leave the world behind us
When I make love to you

Tonight I celebrate my love for you
And hope that deep inside you'll feel it too

Tonight our spirits will be climbing
To a sky filled up with diamonds
When I make love to you, tonight

Tonight I celebrate my love for you
And that midnight sun is gonna come shining through

Tonight there'll be no distance between us
What I want most to do, is to get close to you, tonight

Tonight I celebrate my love for you
And soon this old world will seem brand new

Tonight we will both discover how friends turn into lovers
When I make love to you

Tonight I celebrate my love to you
And tha midnight sun is gonna come shining through

Tonight there'll be no distance between us
What I want most to do, is to get close to you

Tonight I celebrate my love for you

Tonight

"Evil Woman" "Telephone Line"- Electric Light Orchestra
"That smell" Lynnrd Skynnrd
"Whipping Post"- Allman Brothers Band
"Let your love flow"- The Bellamy Brothers
"Golden Years", "Life on Mars", "Young Americans", "Heroes", "Rebel Rebel"
- all by David Bowie
"Jackie Blue"- Ozark Mountain Daredevils
"Celebrate"- Three Dog Night
"Beginnings"- Chicago
"You make loving fun"- Fleetwood Mac
"Hello, it's me"- Todd Rundgren

Wow... there's SO MANY more..just can't list all of them.

Hello, it's me
I've thought about us for a long, long time
Maybe I think too much but something's wrong
There's something here that doesn't last too long
Maybe I shouldn't think of you as mine

Seeing you
Or seeing anything as much as I do you
I take for granted that you're always there
I take for granted that you just don't care
Sometimes I can't help seeing all the way through

It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me

Think of me
You know that I'd be with you if I could
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if I ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think I should

It's important to me
That you know you are free
'Cause I never want to make you change for me

Think of me
You know that i'd be with you if i could.
I'll come around to see you once in a while
Or if i ever need a reason to smile
And spend the night if you think i should

(think of me)

I like this song too :)

La La La La La La La La La
Ooh, Ooh

It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far
So if you look in my direction
And we don't see eye to eye,
My heart needs protection and so do I.

It's gonna take a lotta love
To get us thru the night.
It's gonna take a lotta love
To make things work out right.
So if you are out there waitin'
I hope you show up soon,
'Cause my heart needs relating not solitude

Gotta lotta love
Gotta lotta love
La La La La La La La La La
Ooh, Ooh

It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far.
It's gonna take a lotta love
To change the way things are.
It's gonna take a lotta love
Or we won't get too far
Or we won't get too far
(Repeat to fade)
I have always loved this song from the late Nicolette Larson

"That's what love is all about" by Micheal Bolton

There was the time
We thought our dream was over
When you and I
Had surely reached the end
Still here we are
The flame as strong as ever
All because we both kept holding on
We know we can weather any storm
CHORUS:
Baby, that's what love is all about
Two hearts, that find a way, somehow
To keep the fire burning
It's something we could never live without
If it takes forever we can work it out
Beyound a shadow of a doubt
Baby, that's what love is all about

As time goes by we've learnd to rediscover
The reason why this dream of our survives
Through thick and thin we're destined for each other
Knowing we can reach the other side
Far beyound the mountains of our pride
CHORUS
Ooh ridin' the good times is easy
The hard times can tear you apart
There'll be times in your heart
When the feelin' is gone
But you keep on believing
And you keep holdin' on
CHORUS:
Baby, that's what love is all about
Two hearts that find a way, somehow
To keep the dream from dying
It's something we could never live without
If it takes forever we can, we can work it out
Beyound a shadow of a doubt
Baby, that's what love is all about

" Completely" by Micheal Bolton

Completely, wanna give my love, completely
I'd rather be alone than be in love just half a way
I want to find someone that I can trust

Completely, wanna give my heart, completely
To someone who'll completely give their heart to only me
And than I find that one that's when I'll fall in love

CHORUS:
Completely, not half but whole with heart and soul
Completely, not in between but everything, completely
That's the way it's got to be,
The way I want someone to fall in love with me

Forever, wanna feel the word forever
And know there'll be somebody there forever by my side
And when that feeling comes, that's when I'll give my love

CHORUS

It's all or nothing at all for this heart of mine
And I won't give up this heart until the day I find
Somebody who can be someone who loves me

CHORUS

The way I need someone to fall in love with me, oooh oooh

" If you needed somebody" - By Bad Company

Should have told you by now
But I can't find the words
If I could show you somehow
But I don't have the nerve
You don't see me looking at you
How can love be so blind
Somehow you dont notice me
Sooner or later there will come a time

CHORUS
If you need somebody
The way that I need you
If you needed somebody
The way that I want you

If I could hold you tonight
It would last me forever
But the times never right
When will we be together
If I could make you understand
What you're doing to me
Maybe there wil come a time
Sooner or later I will make you see

CHORUS
If you need somebody
The way that I need you
If you needed somebody
The way that I want you

OOh, If I could tell you now
The way you make me feel
OOh, If I could show you somehow
Dont you know my lovin' is so real

“I'll Never Over You Getting Over Me” By Expose

I hear you're taking the town again
Havin' a good time
With all your good-time friends
I don't think that you think of me
You're on your own now
And I'm alone and free

I know that I should get on with my life
But a life lived without you
Could never be right

Chorus:
As long as the stars shine down
From the heavens
Long as the rivers run
To the sea
I'll never get over you
Getting over me

I try to smile so the hurt won't show
Tell everybody
That I was glad to see you go
But the tears just won't go away
(Won't go away..)
Loneliness found me
Looks like it's here to stay

I know that I oughta find someone new
But all I find is myself
Always thinkin' of you

Chorus

Oh!
No matter what I do
Each night's a lifetime to live through
I can't go on like this
(I need your touch)
You're the only one I'll ever love)
Oh, oh.. ah....

Ooh.....
Ooh.....
Ooh.....

And as
Long as the stars shine down
From the heavens
Long as the rivers run
To the sea
I'll never get over you
Getting over me

I'll never get over you
Getting over
Never get over you...
Getting over
I'll never get over you
Getting over me
