post office cuts saturday

Oh I see, I have strong expectation about want economy to booming and ability to find an employment. I'm big fan of Ford and doesn't want to see them goes down.

I'm not interested to work at manufacturing jobs, regardless on paying because of limited choice with vision problem, so my position will be limited to office and individual.

Nah, Ford won't go out of business for a while. Not sure about GM or Chrysler. They irresonpsibly accepted the Bush/Obama loans, in which they were not able to pay back because of low profits.

Ford rejected both loans, and thus has been doing OK so far. GM and Chrysler are doing much worse.

Heh, back in America, my family and I owned two ford vehicles out of four. I loved my manual car Ford Escort ZX2, I missed it, until some drunk illegal spaniard with no license nearly killed me. Not funny story. I barely survived. If I had went at 45 mph, instead of 40, the truck would have smashed at my driver car door, instantly and potentially could have killed me. Oh boy....

I think I'm getting off the subject so I'll stop.

You still don't know wtf you are talking about.

It was management who told us about transfers, not the union leader.

same thing. I wouldn't believe them.

I don't care if you believe it or not since the mgmt didn't talk to you.

that's fine. I don't really see how can a bunch of you get transferred to LA plant since there's a limit to how many they can accept.

thousands of people will still lose a job regardless.

No, our machines will be also moved to another plant in LA. The mgmt said that LA plant is very big and has plenty of spaces. Get it?

got cash for that?

I certainly hope we taxpayers are not paying for relocation cost for ya'all.

I don't know what they will do with my plant if closed. A long time ago one plant in Marina was closed down and sold to Steven Spielberg for millions dollars. Anyway, later he sold it to a realtor for less than what he paid.

One of the reasons for closing some plants is high utility bills due to 24/7 operations.

How many USPS plants in LA metro?

and yet..... LA plant can afford all of you? I don't think so!

my guess? few will get transferred... many will lose jobs.

Are you always paranoid?

this isn't an issue of paranoia. this is a serious concern as taxpayer. It would be in USPS' best interest to lay off many people and restructure itself. Losing over $10 billions of dollars every year is no funny business.

but... you don't care about any of this as long as you're getting paid and receiving "free healthcare" at our expense, right?

If excessive, PSEs will be the ones to go.

I don't think that you will be lay off due to Schedule A about employing the workers with disabilities, so it means regular workers will be lay off as you stay there.

That would be a dumb move. Usually when people are making cuts they fire the people making more $$$ that way they don't have to fire as many.

In addition to LA plant near downtown, the other plants are in City of Industry, Santa Ana, Long Beach and Van Nuys currently. I think Pasadena is closed. I am not sure about Inglewood.

Oh interesting, that why LA is very big city.

In here, I think there is one in Birmingham.

Were you born recently?

I think it is union contract that put PSE at most priority for lay off, but the congress or the court could break the union contract.

I heard about anytime, if USPS need restructuring and they have to get the congress to approve it, like USPS ask for stamp cost increase so the congress said no. I could be wrong about that.
