“Chad Oulson then starts confronting him verbally, starts saying: ‘Oh, did you go in there and start complaining on me? Did you tell the staff about me?’” the sheriff said. “This verbal altercation starts getting louder and louder. During this altercation, it goes from a verbal to a physical altercation.” And then, “the suspect, Curtis Reeves, pulled out a gun.”

Hmmm ... so it wasn't the actual texting that got Oulson shot .... I wonder what it was then?

Oh ... maybe ... the physical altercation? :hmm:

Hmmm ... I don't know.

"Physical altercation".... what a laugh!!!! He threw popcorn.... no reason to bring a gun to a popcorn fight

Well, it started when Oulson texted and Reeves complained to him. In other words, if Oulson didn't text or Reeves moved to another seat if Oulson continued texting, it would not lead to the shooting.

I think he is trying to find other way to manipulate the article to make reasonable for him to support ex-cop who shot Chad over thrown popcorn.

I just pasted article to show that Chad didn't punch his hand at ex-cop, but he was throwing a popcorn, that all.

Let him talk whatever he wants and he is doomed.

yep, lack of common courtesy led to the shooting.

The bully texted. The bully got enraged that the cop would go get help. The bully jumped up and attacked the cop. The bully threw stuff in the cop's face.

The bully got shot.

Too bad.

Still reserving judgement though ... maybe the bully thought he was having fun pushing the old man's buttons and thought it was just a joke?

Chad didn't attack the ex-cop and didn't touch ex-cop's body, so he was only throwing popcorn at ex-cop, that it.

Those story is no joke, seriously.

you do realize that the 43-years old man (Chad Oulson) was a former U.S. Navy petty officer, serving from 1990 to 1997?

and why are you judging Chad as bully? based on what?

from your link....

Curtis Reeves, a former captain with the Tampa Police Department, was arrested on a second-degree murder charge in the killing of Chad Oulson, ABC affiliate WFTS reported. Oulson’s wife, Nicole Oulson, was shot in the hand while trying to protect her husband, according to NBC News. Only one bullet was fired.

how convenient of you to omit that out....

I can't find that link. Do you remember where you read that?

I read it somewhere that he got up and people thought he was coming back with the manger ,so I would think he when outside to get his gun or he went into a bathroom to load his gun . I can't think of any other reason as to as why the cop got and left the room then came back in . I could be wrong about this. But I this he got up , he could had taken another seat but that is not want happen . I guess we'll have to see if any more details are on the news.

Personally I think the shooter thought..."Hey, this dude is pissing me off. I'll take care of that problem."

I'm definitely thinking twice before stepping foot in a movie theater again...

Yeah what if someone started to cough during the movie , the cop may had shot that person. I feel if is was not the guy texting the cop would of had find something to get pissed off about.

You do realize that Curtis Reeves was a highly trained and decorated retired police officer that helped establish the tactical response team in Tampa, Florida? That several of his commendations were dispute resolution? That he had no history of violence and an impeccable service record?

So, whatever actions he took MUST have been required since he was a highly trained law enforcement officer that was allowed to carry concealed anywhere, in any State? That he was "the professional" of his field? If you cannot trust the professionals, who can you trust?

You also realize that all of the facts have not been revealed in this case, and inaccurate reports from the media have already been pointed out? :cool2:

That was pointed out by Reba already, but thank you ... its called a 'conflicting report".

You may recall all those "conflicting reports" during the Trayvon Martin media frenzy? When everyone rallied around and tried to crucify George Zimmerman, the white hispanic guy?

so... he's a highly-trained and decorated retired police officer.... and yet he clearly misread the situation and failed to defuse it... the victim didn't even have a gun...

highly-trained and decorated, I see.

so you're siding with Curtis?

And your qualifications to make that judgement are ..... ?

Ex navy SEAL?
FBI?
CIA?
Secret Service?
Attorney?

Alldeaf forum couch referee?

so you're siding with Curtis?

I haven't "sided" with anyone. All I am interested in is how the story is being portrayed to the public. I made that intention very clear from the beginning.

Oh wow, my parent wants me to serve US Navy but major barrier is deafness - prevent from join the US Navy and Usher Syndrome make worse too.

I support US military and love to visit their bases.

so why are you painting Chad as bully and Curtis as poor old man?

so why are you painting Chad as bully and Curtis as poor old man?

Because the opposite is being portrayed to the public. I think all angles should be looked at. If Chad was being portrayed as a bully, and Reeves was being portrayed as a frail old man, I would be looking at the whole situation differently than how it is portrayed.

It is how you see past all the propaganda and hidden agendas.

I still haven't made a decision on guilt or innocence because I know the facts are not being portrayed accurately. There is a slant in everything you read, everywhere. I try (but am not always successful) in looking at the tiny details that end up becoming conflicted reports, and I try to understand why they are not portrayed accurately the first time around ... I usually start paying attention to stories like these after several weeks have passed.

It is just the way I think, and the way I come to understand things ... that is all. I am highly analytical.

this is what I see - you've come to understand that Chad is a bully and Reeves is a frail old man... and you are analyzing and slanting the situations solely based on that.
