Ohio man excuted after vulgar last gesture

Many people who are in their right mind murder people.

Many people who cannot be diagnosed as clinically insane murder people.

Very very few people with psychotic illnesses kill others. They generally kill themselves. However, in a few cases, people who are psychotic has killed others.

I know of no serial killer in history that has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.

You guys are bringing all kinds of emotion to the topic, but your emotion is causing you to make some very broad generalizations that just are not reasonable.

We are talking about a man who had a long history of psychosis prior to even comitting these crimes. People seem to think that he had the capacity to think and plan like someone who does not suffer from a psychotic disorder, and others have claimed that because he suffered from a psychotic disorder, he needed to be killed. I find that very disturbing.

Paranoid schizophrenic is not the only mental illness that causes people to snap and kill others. There are all kinds of mental illnesses that bring out the monster in people to murder or harm others.

I am not emotional at all about this one. I am simply stating a fact.

Paranoid schizophrenia is very, very rarely responsible for someone killing another in a psychosis. They are far more likely to kill themselves. This man had not just a diagnosis of paranoid schizophrenia but two othe comorbid diagnoses as well.

You are not stating facts. You are stating misperceptions and urban myths.

Then do explain to me why serial killers kill? Why do people get their jollies off of killing others?

I know people kill out of a fit of rage. Temporarly insanity?

Their brain is not exactly wired right.

I'm disturbed that you'd think this way. I hope your family never comes down with a serious mental illness.

You know what I find particularly disturbing? This is the same mind set that has been behind every act of genocide ever committed. Dehumanizing another group. Judging them as having less value and unworthy of human consideration. The Halocaust, Mei Li Massacre, acts of genocide in Ruwanda and other parts of Africa, and those are just three examples in modern history. This kind of thinking is downright scary.

People wonder how so many were led to follow Hitler. All it takes is harboring the attitude we see against others not being human or of lesser worth than ourselves.

Then do explain to me why serial killers kill? Why do people get their jollies off of killing others?

That is a complicated topic that would take hours and hours to cover. No one serial killer has the same reason. Thousands of books have been written on the topic. It is far too extensive to attempt to cover on AD.

No.

Their brain is not exactly wired right.

Anyone is capable of murder. All it takes is being capable of dehumanizing another. And that is without mental illness being a factor.

if anyone in my family murdered someone, then they deserve to lose their life in turn.
and i was completely wrong, she hasnt been released, but its not too far off, according to her attorney:
Report: Andrea Yates lawyer

maybe we can send her a welcome home gift basket and let her babysit.

How the hell did molested children get into a discussion of executing a mentally ill man?

Seriously, people. Think before you respond.

Just because someone not think precise same way you, not mean they not think before respond.

Of course it doesn't. But emotionally bringing child molesters into a discussion of the execution of a mentally ill man does. Child molestation does not even carry the penalty of execution. It has virtually nothing to do with this case. So someone wasn't thinking.

I would be satisfied if she were simply treated as a human being who had a horrible horrible illness and did something as a result that she will have to live with for the rest of her life.

Someone thinking just fine, thank you. Discussion capital punishment, you really believe discussion what crimes fit not related? Get real.

Child molestation does not even fall under the capital punsihment statutes.

But the discussion is the execution of a mentally ill man who killed his 3 children. Not child molesters, not capital punishment in general.

Well, I for one have Tim ignore, so not read op. My responses go entirely off other responses.

And my humblest apology for being first person ever AD history bring thread slightly off topic.

Then, maybe the next time, you need to check out what the topic is before you react from an emotional place.

And you are forgiven.
