if it were my job, i would sleep just fine at night. or even if i wasnt.
sorry, but i wont lose any sleep over some child killer being put down like the dog that he is.

No. Not say that. You ask how bad I would feel, not if I think justified. I answer how bad I would feel, which is bad BUT not as bad as molested child feels.

It's very easy for both of you to say this from the comfort of your own computer. When it comes time for you to take another human being's life, I have serious doubts whether you'd be able to do it, and if you did, whether you'd be able to live with yourself afterward. That's the problem with vigilantism. It allows you to be complicit without being culpable. It's cowardly.
 
the same could be said for opposing sides..its easy to say that you would hold hands and do arts and crafts with the guy who just stomped his kids head in..because you aren't in that position. but i really feel confident in the fact that i have absolutely no problems with putting people who kill, for whatever reason, to death. we have become far too complacent with people like this.
 
and yes, i see ANYONE who kills children/people as less than human, no matter what their mental status.

Logical fallacy. The "opposing side" does not want to "hold hands and do crafts" with people who kill. :roll: The opposing side simply does not want to perpetuate the same murderous behavior as the convicted.

I have no compassion for murderers, child molesters, etc. That doesn't mean I think they should be murdered by the state, which is an extension of the people.

So, because someone was born with a biological difference that results in mental illness, they have no value as a human being. Is that it?
 
My arguement is that anyone that kills is mentally ill. What makes this guy an exception to the death penalty.. when people cheer on that serial killers are put to death.

I've seen 67 episodes of Dexter, and watched him kill 113 people.
It makes it super easy for me to know how it is to take the life out of someone and see the light in their eyes go out. He makes it look like cutting a slice of pie.

Your argument is fallicious. All who kill are not mentally ill. By clinical or legal definitions.

People that are in their right mind would not go out and murder people or get off on killing people..

serial killers and people that commit horrible crimes are not exactly considered mentally stable.

Many people who are in their right mind murder people.

Many people who cannot be diagnosed as clinically insane murder people.

Very very few people with psychotic illnesses kill others. They generally kill themselves. However, in a few cases, people who are psychotic has killed others.

I know of no serial killer in history that has been diagnosed as a paranoid schizophrenic.

You guys are bringing all kinds of emotion to the topic, but your emotion is causing you to make some very broad generalizations that just are not reasonable.

We are talking about a man who had a long history of psychosis prior to even comitting these crimes. People seem to think that he had the capacity to think and plan like someone who does not suffer from a psychotic disorder, and others have claimed that because he suffered from a psychotic disorder, he needed to be killed. I find that very disturbing.

Exactly. And executing the mentally ill, the developmentally delayed, and the cognitively impaired is an action that no civilized society should even consider, much less sanction.
