Obama's message to schools - text

The federal government certainly isn't responsible for the lack of empathy shown by individuals. The individual themself is responsibile for that.

Don't all parents want good educations for their children? What's wrong with that? That doesn't mean they don't want good educations for others' children, too. In fact, people who support vouchers want them available to all kids, not just their own kids.
I don't see how it's selfish to want something that's actually a lower burden for the taxpayers. I'm also scratching my head trying to figure out this sneering attitude towards parents wanting to provide their kids a better education to improve their lot in life and make them more productive members of society. Should we want our kids to do well or not? Perhaps the poor state of our education could be partially blamed for the sloppy thinking that leads to such conclusions.

Yes, why not give parents and kids the choice to choose on education and excellence for a change? Me thinks it's all about teachers unions.

Parents and children already have a choice.

There's funny picture.

ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha good one!

1st pix - Little Jeffy Before Obama's Speech. He's your ordinary child with normal clothing style. Next - Little Jefy After Obama's Speech. He's dressing like a communist revolution guy. He's got long hair, beard & mustache like Fidel Castro. He's wearing commie hat, military boots, and che guevara shirt. He's holding sickle and hammer (symbol of communism)

2nd pix - The context is Obama making a speech to students at school. There's a man holding up sign with Obama face on it with a word pointing to it - "NOTZEE" (misspelling of Nazi), yelling - N! Kids!! Don't Lissen to Him! Cover Your Ears! He's trying to indoctrinizate your brains! Run! Don't look into his eyes! He's a soshlist!. Obama's at the podium, pointing at the crazy man, smiling at kids, saying to kids - "And this is why it's so important to get a good education!"

3rd pix - a very gloomy pix. a family is eating together at a table - mother, father, and a boy. Caption - "Parents are concerned President Obama's speech to kids on importance of education will send wrong message. Father's grumbling, telling his son - "You're staying home today. We can't allow that socialist muslim terrorist trick you into thinkin' for yourself"

4th pix - Obama's talking to family (mom-dad-boy) at dinner table - "Do what your parents say. Eat your vegetables and finish your homework". He was suddenly interrupted by GOP elephant, screaming "SOCIALIST!"

You missed the "I ♥ Palin" tee shirt that the man with the sign is wearing. :cool2:

Parents and children already have a choice.

Provided they have enough money. Parents who can't afford private or parochial schools are stuck relying on the public school system.

And they have choices within that system, as well. But not all kids attending private and parochial school have parents who are wealthy and not have parents that even pay their tuition. All the ones I know of offer a certain number of scholarships every year for lower incomes students. Likewise, there is a charter school option in many areas.

I've seen democrats act like that mentioned in scripts as well.
Agreed. So why does everyone keep fighting all the time? We acknowledge that both sides have radicals. Both sides have sexual fiends. Both sides have thieves. Both sides have gotten us where we are now. Both sides are guilty of making false statements about the other side. Why do we, the AllDeaf members, continue to draw up the same sides to fight the same battles in regards to politics?

Couldn't have said it better! :ty:

Yeah... You nailed it well. I remember I post a link about "forget the parties and we are Americans" somewhere else in a thread. So, they just should work together and get it better. I'm not a politician, either. Okay ... It's really getting bored to listen/read countless Obama-bashing threads as Bush-bashing threads were.

I hardly read them now. I only read a few threads now, and that's enough. *yawns!*
