light wing? what is that? seems like you like to label people xxxx-wing. I play left-wing in hockey. I eat hot-wing for lunch. I built X-wing model toy when I was a kid

perhaps she should respect our personal views for starter :hmm:

Left wing means toward to liberal and right wing means toward to conservative, you should know so better.

I really has no idea why you accuse me for disrespect your posts... It could be that you confused disagreement with disrespectful.

I means if democrat win to regain in congress then it means Americans are satisfied with Obama's job.

You stated that you are conservative, that's part of right wing, you know that.
I know what right wing means. I just didn't understand the tone of your remark.

The word "conservative" does not mean to be "right wing." Rather it's a separate ideological belief and value. You can have a conservative democrat, a conservative republican, even a conservative libertarian. They all have something in common but are either right or left of center. Or center itself.

you said light wing. I suppose you meant left-wing, right? Left-wing is not always liberal. Right-wing is not always conservative either. In fact, left-wing is not a Democrat either. Obama is not a leftist/left-wing either.

Perhaps you should actually read up on it beside wikipedia... like political science textbooks. It's readily available at any library.

Being conservative are more toward to right wing.

I means left wing, already fixed it.

No thanks, I already know about define with right wing and left wing.

For Obama, he's more on left wing, however if you said he's not then it's your opinion.

Fine, I will say in other way, both of liberal and conservative are always in heat debate and no one would agree with it, you got more agreement with me about gun rights, I think so.

Okey dokey.

(I kept trying to type a simple "OK" by itself, but it kept posting as lowercase. :dunno:)

Arnold Schwarzenegger is a liberal Republican. (that's subjected to argument)

perhaps you should pick up a political science textbook and find out what's actually a left wing and right wing. Like I said - it is not relating to conservative, liberal, Republican, or Democratic. It is a separate political ideology like Democratic Party, Republican Party, Libertarian Party, Green Party, and so on.... (as kokonut explains it well in his post #66).

If you think Obama is on Left Wing... then he would not be in Democratic Party.

Sometimes politicians are members of parties for expediency, not ideology. It would be impossible to successfully run for President as a member of the Progressive Party (for example), so some people with progressive ideology hook up with the Democrat Party to appear more mainstream or go with the majority party of their state.

Sometimes politicians are liberal in some areas (such as social issues) but conservative in other areas (national defense), or vice versa.

yep. quite true. It is not uncommon of politician to change their political affiliation upon after appointment. For ie - NYC Mayor Bloomberg recently switched to Independent from Republican.

yep. that's why my statement about Arnold Schwarner is subjected to argument as his view/stance on issues varies but IMO - he is a liberal Republican. As for Obama - a very liberal Democrat.

These days - more and more political ideologies are beginning to mix or overlap with each other.

I don't appreciate your provocation against me and time for knock it off, I will say repeat, no thanks and I already know about what parties or wing means, if you don't like my define so toobad.

Democratic Party is left party in most cases, it's refer as left wing but it's not extreme left wing, unlike socialist or communist party.

Actually, Jiro, the word left-wing has been used interchangeably to mean Democrat while right-wing has been used interchangeably to mean Republican. Left of center or left-wing, right of center or right-wing when it comes to ideological beliefs and values.

Obama is definitely a left-wing. And a statist, too, when it comes to greater governmental control over people and companies.

Here, take the test to see where you stand...politically.

In bold, you got my point but for statism is in question, it would be some part.

yes interchangeably but it is a misnomer when using it wrong.

that is subjected to argument. There was greater governmental control over people under Bush Administration.... it's called Patriot Acts.

I've taken similar test. It says I'm a Centrist leaning to right. :dunno:

You guys just prove me right.

I did take a survey paper and interviewed with 25 people, and they claimed conservatives are crazy, bigots, ignorants, greedy Republicans, villains, and etc etc. All thanks to medias who painted a nasty picture of the Republicians and conservatives. That is how people think of them as 'unpopular ones'. =/
