What's the worse thing about being blind?

cool! <smile>
My braille reading speed is slow, and there are not enough braille books.
I can totally relate. Don't you wish you could just walk into a bookstore and ask for the braille section?
I know right, geeze, Its so hard, i went to barnes and noble yesterday to get 2 books that i was desperate for, and they didnt have them on cd, so i sit here pressing them to my face. grrrr.
Not to mention large print. There was a period of time where I could read the large print books, and whenever I would go to that section, the selections would be so limited!

that would be great! i remember when i was a child, i used to be able to do that at our local library for the blind and physically handicapped. now they no longer mail braille books, so we need to get them from another state's national library service.
I need to sign up with NLS
Me too.
I am so tired of print books...
I can't read print books anymore. So I guess I could same the same. <laugh>
What's your preferred format? Audio, braille...?
nls is great! i've been using their service ever since i was 5 years old. they have a large selection of books on tape and braille. soon they will also be converting some of their book titles to cd format.
Audio, i am not good enough at braille yet to go exploring all the books i want to read in that format.
<laugh> Same.
Braille is NOT easy...
for some it is, but for a majority it's not. braille is much easier to learn as a child as opposed to an adult.
