Yesterday, I was picked phone so quickly then flew off to hit on floor with bettery and battery cover was popped up too, after I put it back and it won't boot up, tried pull battery out so several time but no lucky, it was happened at my work.

I went to att store and talked to rep about what happen, I asked if I can buy different phone then he said that I have to pay in full price, no discount contract then it's totally rip off and told him about how can repair my phone then he told me to call warranty service. I called warranty service and explained about what happen then they said it will cost $400 to replace if they find any damage in BB, such as broken logic board or etc in internal BB, I was like wtf at them and think about other option.

I'm planning to get iPhone 3G on July 11 but I wouldn't probably get it for $300 due my contract is newer, less than 1 year and will going be pay in full price, maybe $500, $600, that's sucks. If you are on contract at under 1 year or later then you wouldn't upgrade with contract discount.

hello Pacman,

I have T-mobile Blackberry 8100 Pearl I have an Equipment Protection by Asurion I pay $5.99 ( nearly to $6) a month I pay Deductible is only $110.00 for cover to replacement phone.

When you buy a new blackberry you have to sign the agreement and you have to get Equipment Protection alike an insurance for your phone is lost or damaged.

if you decline (don't want sign up) for Equipment Protection, You will have to pay a full retail price to replacement new blackberry

You have to ask your carrier about your future newest Iphone 3G HSDPA have insurance coverage available, Iphone is so very expensive to replacment.

I am sorry to hear your current Blackberry 8820 already damaged.

Let me know,

that sucks, pacman! I dont have insurance for my phone because at&t dont have one for my phone and they told me to find one on my own....

I am planning to get the Iphone 3G later this summer. I decided to go to Att website after reading this thread. I found something that might be of interests to those who are planning to get the new Iphone.

Here is one statement it makes regarding Iphone. I copied and pasted onto here:

Eligibility and Enrollment Options
You can enroll in Wireless Phone Insurance when you activate or upgrade your AT&T device. You must enroll within 30 days of activation or upgrade. Wireless Phone Insurance is not available for and does not apply to: Prepaid GoPhone® and Apple iPhone™.

Something to think about.

Here is link for website where I got the above information:

That's sad to hear your bad experience.
We have iphone and AT&T Tilt.
AT&T does not offer insurance on AT&T Tilt, Iphone and BB.

Sorry, Pacman. I do not have insurance of my AT&T Tilt. I don't take care about it.

Yup, thanks for posting here.

I just called att in last several min ago to review the agreement, they said upon agreement and if they find physical damage in my BB then $400 will be charge to account without any choice, even can't decline the agreement, it's too late for me. They asked me about other option to make payment, I would have wait to find out if physical damage is found or not, if not found then I can get replace for free. If so then I will pay off ASPS, however I have gotta deal with that.

It was mistake that I had seen, that's no fun.

Att consumer service is very friendly.

At least it's not all bad news. That is downside of technology, we get dependent on them. When they break, we are helpless! Hopefully they will replace it for you for free.

You can buy hard clear plastic for iPhone, however just be careful.

Apple Care won't cover on physical damage from accident, like include to all Mac.

Yea, I will be carefull that's for sure. I was thinking of checking into what I could get to protect the Iphone cause there will be times I might drop it. Guess I could just avoid hard floors and cements. Stay on carpets and walk on grass all the time. :hmm::cool2:

Yup, that's true...

Cell Phone, laptop (depends on model) and other technoloy devices aren't damage or less damage when drop on home carpet or grassy.

If I were you and would consider get a proctection plan or insurance cover in this way you wont have to worry about the pricey at the later time.

I would gladly entertain the notion if you know of one that will provide for Iphone. Each time I check, they will not cover Iphone.
