My BB 8820 is died

guys.... att now does cover the insurances on high-end phones, pdas and smartphones. see below.(i copied n pasted that)

Wireless Phone Insurance offers customers protection against loss, theft, or accidental damage to their wireless device. Beginning June 2, 2008, Wireless Phone Insurance will expand its coverage to include all high-end phones and PDAs.

What is changing on June 2 with Wireless Phone Insurance?

Wireless Phone Insurance eligibility is being extended include high-end phones and PDAs (except Apple iPhone).

Depending on model, device deductibles will be in two tiers:

Equipment Tier 1: $50 non-refundable deductible per approved claim.

Equipment Tier 2: $125 non-refundable deductible per approved claim (for incident dates on/after November 3, 2008; $50 deductible for pre November 3, 2008 incident dates).

For new activations and upgrades if Wireless Phone Insurance is not selected as a feature on the account, a pop-up message in the billing system will alert sales reps to advise customers that they have 30 days in which to enroll in Wireless Phone Insurance.

For more information, see Know the Facts or the presentation on Wireless Phone Insurance Expanded Coverage for High-End Devices and PDAs.

I am planning to get the Iphone 3G later this summer. I decided to go to Att website after reading this thread. I found something that might be of interests to those who are planning to get the new Iphone.

Here is one statement it makes regarding Iphone. I copied and pasted onto here:

Eligibility and Enrollment Options
You can enroll in Wireless Phone Insurance when you activate or upgrade your AT&T device. You must enroll within 30 days of activation or upgrade. Wireless Phone Insurance is not available for and does not apply to: Prepaid GoPhone® and Apple iPhone™.

Something to think about.

Here is link for website where I got the above information:

I don't know that BB has insurance, however rep hasn't tell me about more information.

Maybe you bought yours at an authorised dealer for AT&T? It is always good idea to go to the AT&T-owned stores.

I BOUGHT at real att store, NOT authorized dealer.

I see, Pacman. The salespersons at AT&T are supposed to give you everything you need to know such as the option of adding equipment protection for your mobile phones, etc.

Hey Pacman, lets go to the cementry and bury your BB, we'll attend your funeral in your behalf :)

Good news, I just called att about cancel the replacement order for BB and wait for iPhone 3G, it save my $400.

I will only quality for unsubsidized iPhone 3G, that cost around $500-$600, ouch BUT... it's not very big deal for me.

I'm still use SK3 until Aug 2008, anyway.

Yup with funeral hearse and long line of cars. Broadcast on nationwide news that BB 8820 buried.

Sprintrelay.com offer BB 8830 or Curve with optional insurance. If you choose insurance come with it. It'll be $10 a month more. Better safe than sorry. MY wife have 8830 and she have ins came with it.

I used to have Insurance for our Sk2 but they're lousy. Forgot what name it was. Right now I'm on month by month basis until I have $$ to buy BB Curve from Sprintrelay.com

Ok, I had changed my mind to not upgrade into iPhone 3G until later because launch day will gonna be sucks due require activation at att or apple store, it will take 10 min per customer and lacking of tethering support. I talked to att rep about tethering support on iPhone 3G and he said it will not support at first time but until later. I cannot patient with my SK3, lol due network was down so often.

I decided to upgrade into Blackjack II for full price, no expands the contract to other 2 years, I'm not happy with my BB due RIM server is down on every week, mostly at night or after midnight and difficult to set tethering to mac.

I'm very impressed with new blackjack II, better than Moto 9Q because it support tethering to mac via bluetooth and it worked so great but Moto 9Q is limited to USB only, also att tilt support tethering via bluetooth too. I don't want att tilt because of not like how touchscreen to work on HTC, I prefer smartphone at overall.

I downloaded internet sharing from website because internet sharing feature is missing, also I have tethering plan included, it's $75 for unlimited data, upped from $65.

I would wonders if I'm quality for TAP? In total, my monthly bill will be $85 due unlimited data with tethering, 200 SMS and insurance.

Yes you should go apply TAP on that phone if your not going to use voice calls.
