So... Comedy Central missed out on the potential profit. Big deal. That gives other companies competitive edges if they decide to call bluff. If the acts are carried out, that's why we have law enforcement agencies and courts.

So, what?

The company who calls bluff is still the winner, unless their consumer base boycotted them.

It was fear winning out than profit. The profit potential was there. Just that fear won out.

Just like every other business who receive hate mails. Their call if they want to take precautions or not.

Other businesses will pick up the slacks. No big deal.

In other words, fear worked. Comedy Central lost. They won.

Depiction of Mohammad is against Islam views.

It isn't about lost and South Park creators have received warned or threat by radical Islam groups so Comedy Central don't want any risk about happened in 2004, that where Theo van Gogh is killed by Islamic extremist.

Theo van Gogh didn't censor his works. What happened afterward was against Dutch laws. Pure and simple.

Thank you, Foxrac. You proved my point. Fear was the key to get Comedy Central to drop the Momo thing.

Yup, it is pathetic.

I believe that anyone can depiction of Mohammad due freedom of speech and not all non-Muslims aware of against Islam views to depiction of Mohammad; and some people don't care.

Anyone can draw Muhammad, but it's subjective to the control of the publishers.

You can draw Muhammad. You can show it to anyone. However when you give that drawing to someone else, THEY choose what they want to do with it.

Everything written and uploaded on Facebook belongs to Facebook. Everything you write on AllDeaf belongs to AllDeaf. South Park got a contract with Comedy Central. The owners of those networks are the ones who get to decide if the published content could be shown or not. The people they profit off can choose to support or boycott, and the owners make their decisions accordingly based on what they think would be most profitable for them.

So, free speech is only "free" when you're the sole owner and publisher of it.

like.... a ban on media to cover fallen soldiers returning back home... now recently repealed by Obama. God bless them.

Wants to say something to that but I can't since it would be off topic.

The intent of that ban was to show respect for the families of the fallen and to allow the fallen to rest in peace rather than be used for photo ops and political propaganda. Those bans were good things.

And how come we're not seeing that now? Not that I want it (it shouldn't be allowed in the first place).

Let's not forget that it is an oppurtunity for some protestors to stand at the funerals of the fallen soldiers. :pissed:

There I said it. I couldn't keep quiet. :whistle::Oops:

Thank goodness for the Patriot Guard Riders.

The way things sound in Afganistan, my brother is heading into hostile territory.

I can understand the Court in Pakistan banning Facebook due to the page in question.

It is a discrimination of religious beliefs. IMHO.

but we cannot have opportunity to stand and witness the bravery and sacrifice they did for us?

respect? oh? it's ok to not show coverage on fallen soldiers out of respect but it's ok to show offensive depiction of Mohammad..... hmm....

Can't have your cake and eat it too. Eh?

You can by doing this if you want to. You're Patriotic, and ride a motorcycle and want to honor the Fallen. I think you should check this out (that is if you haven't already).

Patriot Guard Riders of New York

You do not even have to have a motorcycle to be a part of it.

If you are refering to the protesting. I am speaking of the Westboro Baptist protestors. The Westboro Baptist Church in Kansas organizes anti-American protests at the funerals of soldiers killed in action.

You can imagine the grief the families are going through and made worse by the protestors, no respect at all to the families and friends of the fallen, nor to the Fallen Soldier being put to rest.

You can't lump all of us with the few who don't have the brain cells to use common logic when it comes to religious issues or any issues for that matter.

I do not agree with Facebook continueing to leave the page up. Pakistani government did ask that it was taken down based on the context that it is against their religion to depict their prophet in any way on paper, media, cartoon or whatever. It is Facebook, who left it up there and is now 'preparing to take it down' even though it is not a violation of their Terms.

Bullhockey...it is a form of harrasment...by way of religous beliefs, and slander on Muslims, because they all got lumped in with Terrorists.

Noone ever remembers this: For every issue...some examples...

Illegial Aliens---> Legal Immigrants do agree with border control...some don't.

Terrorists---> Some of the Islamic Faith do think the tactics that Al Queida is using is wrong. We do have Americans who are muslims and believe that it is wrong. Same in the other country, they don't like it because it is exreme.

Anti-Obama---> Some do not like how he has been running the country, but they don't wish harm on him or his family. Probably would get along with the guy playing a round of golf. You know the saying: He sucks at the job, but outside of the job he is a great guy to have a beer with!
