Not at all. You know I'd never mock you. I've already answered to your post but other people kept on coming with more ridiculous WHAT IF.
I've already explained that I'm perfectly fine with.. for ie... arming 2 out of 20 teachers but I'm not fine with arming even half of them - that's a large margin of errors and your concern would be perfectly valid for this situation. :cool2:

Lair.

None of them said "What-If" comments until I mentioned it on #68 post and, later posts, you post this #74 post. Therefore, you did call me a illogical and irrational for my own reasons since none of them said "What If" comments until after the 68th post.

their illogical, irrational reasons. "omg what if he got all mad and grumpy??" "omg what if he's all of sudden depressed?"
- #74 post
It does sound like mine before ADers can post other "What If" comments.

Being 'smart' is not make your intelligence better, being 'stupid' is not make me a low intelligent either. I'm with her post all the way:
... the common good does not mean the common intelligent.

Anyway, thank you for comment, the #178 post.

6 yrs old boy? wow! this is sad...

Mount Morris Township, Mich. Feb. 29, 2000. A 6-year-old boy shot and killed a 6-year-old girl at Buell Elementary School with a .32 caliber handgun.

— Tacoma, Wash. Jan. 3, 2007. An 18-year-old male high school student was arrested for shooting and killing a 17-year-old male student at their school. The suspect allegedly shot the victim in the face and then stood over him, firing twice more

Jonesboro, Ark. March 24, 1998. Two boys, ages 11 and 13, fired on their middle school from nearby woods, killing four girls and a teacher and wounding 10 others. Both boys were later convicted of murder and can be held until age 21. this didnt say if the person did commit suicide?

the two boys didnt commit suicide and were sent to jail till they turned 21. they were out not long ago.. but already in trouble with law.

some didnt commit suicide some did.. so not all do.. :)

Oh boy! I wonder if it has to do with the global warming that might affect the kids' emotions. :dunno:

ah-ha.... thanks for refreshing my memory. I apologize if you took it as an offense but if you follow the posts way after you... my frustration was directed toward to mostly to Piyo, Brad, webexplorer and maybe some other. If you notice the past several posts, you'll see bunch of "what if." I cannot recall who said what but I just know these people were frustrating me, not you since you didn't pitch in much.

um... these cases are hardly a blip in the radar. I'm focusing on MASSACRE - the major school shooting. these are not except Jonesboro. Looks like I skipped over that. I completely forgot about it. Thanks for bringing it up. But the point is - nearly 99% of shooters in school massacres ended in suicide and Jonesboro massacre was probably the start of domino effect.

What should we do to stop the next massacre? Arming teacher is one small step toward to preventing a massacre. ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Cool......I have no problem with it, anyway.

Same here, school shooting is big issue and 911 or lockdown wouldn't able to save so effectively on some of situation, especially in rural area, exurb or around small town.

You know Police Officers killed/hurt unarmed people because they "thought" unarmed people have weapons in their pocket, handbag, etc is common in America............

I bet the teachers would do the same...

Free country?

It´s scary thought...
It happens but it isn't a "common" occurrence in America.

not my problem. this is about CCW at schools. But I'll comment on it. Minutemen are a gross example of irresponsible group of vigilantes who took advantage of our Amendment 2. if we have a teacher who is minutemen member at school, i will stage a fucking huge protest to get him kicked out of school. if i have children there, i will bring them to another school.
Where did you get that idea about the Minutemen? Have you read their website? Do you know that they don't allow guns to be used in their border patrols? They are not vigilantes. They are a lobbying group and volunteers who keep an eye on border activities. Please do some research.

fine by me. I already explained my "complaint" to you and other's choice for picking #1. But you guys complained back with ridiculous and unrealistic reasons and "WHAT IF" for my choice #2. At least my complaint was sound and reasonable... not "WHAT IF"

I didn't complaint or angry with you or anyone. I have a habit to use the word, "if" on some of my posts. It's interesting that we have some different thoughts. Maybe, the gov't could set up different group of schools for the teachers to carry with their gun, and another group without the gun. We could find out which one is better. In my mind, I still don't like the idea. That's all.

I thought that a guard is a better solution. I guess that many guards failed to prepare their act... Wow, I don't know that the S.W.A.T. are poor shooters.

I don't feel like to search the article on the Google about locking the doors in the building like the emergency button from a security's office. My mother heard the story on the news before it made a big announcement. It is always something happens on the news at the very beginning of the "truth" announcement. The new's story is censored later. For example, the emergency button. It could be the mayor's order to cover up the story. I really don't care the coverup story. It disgusted that the killer was really sicko.

yup but you know how a small group of Minutemen went rogue and decided to take matters in their hands. or sometimes things do get out of hand and they do round them up, rough them up.

There you go. Now you can propose an idea of guards and capitulate on that instead of bombarding me with silly what-if scenarios that can be easily rebutted but I apologize for getting frustrated. I should have been more patient because perhaps you are not familiar with guns which is why it's understandable that people get uncomfortable with gun around. I should have explained more and assure you.

Wow, I don't know that the S.W.A.T. are poor shooters.
oh no no! SWAT have outstanding marksmanship which is why they're called SWAT - Special Weapon and Tactics. They train constantly on many type of scenarios. Cops do not. Cops are lousy shots and they panic easily. They do not handle stress well when it comes to under fire - which is why you see over-kill in news like NYPD.

Usually only metropolitan areas (or major cities) have their own special police force (aka SWAT) because they're needed on daily basis. But what about local towns? counties? You don't see/hear about police raids in your town nearly everyday. SWAT is very expensive and unnecessary to have for towns/counties... which is why they have state/county special police force that they share. It's cost effective that way for counties/towns to share special police force but... one major drawback - it takes a long time for them to arrive... usually up to 30 min.

I've shown you examples of all major school shootings (except Jonesboro). All shooters ended in suicide and the polices do not go inside to find the shooters. The special police task force did not arrive on time. This is why it's purely logical to arm just a couple of teachers or yes - hire armed security guards. but problem with armed security guard is... what if the school has limited budget? what if it's some quiet/peaceful school in a lovely suburb or rural? It's practical and reasonable to arm 1-2 teachers.... just for time being. My high school does have 2 security guards but I do not know if they are armed or not.

ah ok I'll take your word for it :cool2: I don't think emergency button is a good idea... they should just install a tough door with door lock for each class that the teacher can lock for him/herself.

Remember, gun could be hidden, even you never know when people are hide the gun and bring in anywhere, also concealed carry is legal in Texas, even most states in US as well and you gotta be careful with your way.

Hire guard for school wouldn't help but waste of tax and varies of students are too smart to hide or carry guns to school.

Major School Shootings

2. April 16 2007 – Virginia Tech – 32 dead / 23 injured (suicide)
3. October 2 2007 – Amish School – 5 dead / 5 injured (suicide)
4. March 21 2005 – Red Lake High School – 9 dead / 7 injured (suicide)
5. April 20 1999 – Columbine High School – 13 dead / 24 injured (2 suicides)

Number of incidents of including Major and “Minor School Shootings” (with about 0-3 deaths)

** I’m starting with Columbine Shooting **
1999 – 2
2000 – 1
2001 – 2
2002 – 2
2003 – 4
2004 – 1
2005 – 2
2006 – 5
2007 – 4
2008 – 5

Total Deaths: 100

(sources/data were compiled and obtained from Wikipedia)

If you notice – in all major school shootings… not ONE school shooter has been apprehended or shot by cops. They committed suicide. THEREFORE – relying on police is useless.
That's a good point there. I've noticed the same thing.

When it comes to murder/suicide, there's nothing the cops can do because it all happens so fast.

Those 2 boys were practically "toddlers" who didn't consider intentional suicide.

As for the 18-year-old, he only had one target... that's it. That's all he cared about. He didn't have "Oh, fuck the world!" in his mind. He just wanted to kill that one guy.

The other shootings involved people with "Oh, fuck the world!" in their minds. Their goals were to walk in... shoot as many people as they can... then suicide.

When it comes to murder/suicide, there's nothing the cops can do because it all happens so fast.

suicide killer/bomber is the worst worst worst kind of enemy ever in any scenarios, any conflicts, any wars. it's very demoralizing and devastating.
