Mom sprayed 2 year-old for tantrum

Harsh. I don't have to read a scientific report to know what a high-pressure washer can do to skin.

A few month ago I was washing my car and sprayed my hand when I reached to turn over a floormat. Really stupid. It took the top layers of skin right off the back of my hand. I cringe to think what it would do to a child's face and eyes.

Wow, I'm surprise there was no redness, bruises or any other injuries after aim the high-pressure water near the girl's body.

Still it does not solve what the mother did, cause young children do accident wet their pants, it is ridiculous to punish a child over this especially when a child is only 2 years old.
The kid was having a tantrum... giving attitude, screaming, etc.

I've sprayed myself with a car wash hose, nothing.

I guess it depends on the setting that you have it on.

im wishes the mothers need still in jail! and i read articles says she got out jail about $1,000 bonds unknown people and no lawyers im not sure if mothers need to supervisors for hours till her times for jail that so crazy!

Yea, she might didn't have it on high setting, It looks bad when you see it on camera, You got to wonder if she use it on high setting or not. I'll be afraid to leave that 2 1/2 years old in the care of the mother.

The mother seriously needs to be sprayed by the hose turned on full force!
i agree with you!!!! at full force to see how she feel being in the toddler's shoes. jeez!

**nodding** 2 year old kids have toileting accidents. It happens. You change their clothes and go on. No biggie!

right toddlers cant help as they are learning how to do this as this is new to them so gotta givem patience and understanding.. I remmy i took tj with me to the store and he wet himself..so good t hing i had extra clothes in diaper bag just in case but still after that I always asked do u need to go to bathroom before we go somewhere.. it actually always work whew!!! hehe..same as at bedtime cuz Tj do wet bed sometimes.. so make him go before go bed does work cuz he didnt wet bed. :)

The kid was having a tantrum... giving attitude, screaming, etc.

yes but still it doesnt give the mother right to spray the toddler with that? it can give the little kid blisters with air blasting thru the skins and cause pains. It is not right! Toileting accident happens. they are learning and mother just have no patience. jeez.

Yeah.. even if the pressure was like, my garden hose on LOW, there's absolutely no excuse for soaking your poor child in public for something like peeing when they're -two years old-... and she wasn't using a hose meant to water my lawn, but one meant to wash a BIG CAR. I've put my hands through one of those things, not even on a particularly high setting, and it HURTS.

There's a million better things that the mother could've done, but that, even if the water was on the lowest possible setting- it's abuse. It's just not acceptable behavior on the part of the mother, and if she considers that behavior okay in public, I hate to imagine what she now or soon will be doing behind closed doors to that child.

The mother pinned the child against the wall and sprayed her continously for 30 -45 secs. The pressure on the hose was high enough to knock the child off balance. (notice how the child braces herself against the wall to keep from falling) Then if that wasnt enough she sprayed in the upper chest and neck area and very near the face.

If this isnt child abuse I dont know what is. At age 22 and five months pregnant and having a 2 1/2 year old child - I think this mother simply needs to have her tubes tied and burnt for the greater benefit. She has no buisness having children she cannot appropriately take care of. You can say take her child away but knowing this woman, she'll just keep having more. *sigh* such a sad world we live in today. :(

Actually the mother is holding the child's right arm while spraying the child to prevent her from falling and moves the hose away to talk to the child.

Granted the mother did spray her daughter but she didn't do it on a continously basis

It's simple: how old is your skin? If one is in their 60's, the pressure washer will hurt. If one's in their 20's, it won't hurt.

We use high-pressure washer to clean the rib smokers and tents etc, One of our crew that works with us wored flip flops that day, somehow he lost his balance and the high-pressure washer end up ripping a skin off of his toe, it started bleeding looks more like a cut, then later on his foot had swollen up. He went to the doctor and they gave him antibiotics. poor guy.

That's why I wear my tennis shoes when I use the high-pressure power washer.

same here wear tennis shoes when washing the car. i didnt want to get my poor feet hurt..

yeah thats why i am disgusted at the mother who would do that to her 2 yrs old child. GRRR. it is child abuse, period!

it was in the news not long ago i think last fall.. someone brought horses to the car wash and washed the horses with pressure washer?? wtf???? the horses didnt like it cuz horses were neighing the whole time and someone reported it to police.. the owners got charged with abusing the horses using the pressure washer.

Right I agree, high-pressure washer is to remove tough grease, dirt and etc. it not the same thing as using a regular water hose.

Using a high-pressure washer directly to a child or animal is a form of abuse in my own opinion. I'm glad to see the owner was charge for doing that to these poor horses.

I am totally against this mother, what does she do with their kid? It is NO FAIR. If she is mad about their kid, then take a time and more discussion. It would be help than abuse "used a pressure water" this kid will be scared forever, If next time might be happened again, so that is not good, because this kid just small. my heart got hurt, when i saw the video. oh nooo!!!!! *shake my head* If i see, what happened with her and she would get a big blue eye.

If the mother is having to hold the child up to prevent her being knocked over by the force, then this is excessive. The fact that she had to hold her up tells you that.

She sprayed her with a high pressure water hose as a form of punsihment. There is no justification, nor any excuse that can mediate what this mother did.

Not necessarily. And a 2 year old toddlers skin is much much more sensitive than an adults.

I agree, but kids is very sensitive shock. the same thing If I push my friend into swim pool. this water is cold, they would be shock, too.
