Lies about CI's

And that is not disrespectful?

Why would you consider that to be disrespectful? Why don't you let the deaf poster I was responding to determine that? But since he has a sense of humor and has shown it in a couple of posts here today, I don't think he will find it disrespectful at all.

I didn't find that disrespectful at all. I was just adding the humor flavor to this thread.

right back at ya! Thanks for re-enforcing my point. :ty:

You are so silly. Didn't you know that audiologists and CI companies pay the media and cops to keep their mouths shut? It's all about $$$$$$. They make 6 billion dollars a year!

Happens to us in the winter time every year, static + scarves+ CI = boom. I just consider it a Christmas bonus, keep quiet about it, and dust off the child. If I run short of cash in the summer, I can always rub a balloon on her head.

Maybe you better check the poster's response. He did not find it disrespectful. Once again, you are looking at things from your hearing perspective, he and I were looking at it from a deaf perspective. We both found it humorous...you found it disrespectful.:laugh2:

But that's okay, keep going. I can use all the support I can get for what I say, and you are giving me plenty today!

what I mean is that while I see the humor, not everyone that wears a CI would want to be refereed to as a borg. Some will consider it disrespectful. Some parents that have chosen to implant their child may find it disrespectful. When I am joking it is made evident by using :laugh2: or :giggle: or . None of which I saw in either post. So how does one know if comments are made tongue and cheek?

See you are still doing it.

Let's get back to the point. Lies about CI = what do Borgs have to provide for individual once when their resistance WAS futile and WERE assimilated? In unison of Borg's purpose, OR for that individual's purpose?

how very hypocritical of you. It's ok for you to speak for the deaf population and imply they have been insulted but when comments are made that may insult those with CI's or those parents of CI children, nobody can speak to that eh? Do I have it right?

Refer-eed. Been smoking some of that refer? LOL

The answer to your question is, common sense. This is a deaf forum. Apply critical thinking skills. Bingo...answer.

Parents of implanted children appear to get offended by many things that are not considered offensive in the deaf community. I am beginning to see a correlation between childhood implantation and loss of parental humor. Wonder if I could get a grant to research that?
