Hmm it says the prints cannot be retrieved by the strip.....yet I have seen it done personally. Strange

right. but why "limited citizenship"? What's the difference with work visa? We already have process and law for work visa. There are several Temporary Worker visa. More information can be found here - Temporary Workers

The fees listed are too low....If they enterewd illegally I believe the fees and taxes must be high. That's just how I see it

probably. it's also because the government is not issuing it.... therefore - they entered the country illegally. that's why I said to make it workable for them.

Why complicate things with higher fees?

America got too many laws and regulations as it is.

As I see it there has to be a price to pay for entering illegally. In a perfect world the higher visa fees and higher income taxes on those who entered illegally would go to help secure the border in the future.

This is generous when the law calls for deportation. If they don't like it they are free to leave.

Granting visas under the currently existing system is still better than not paying taxes at all. If they are paying taxes, just like every other visa holders, they're contributing to America's national security. Why impose a higher fee or tax brackets?

Why pour more money into lawyers' pockets, and waste more tax dollars by creating new statuses?

To avoid sending the wrong message to those who consider entering illegally in the future. The hope is that these fees and taxes would pursuade many to return to Mexico. The taxes and fees of those who choose to stay could help fund other forms of deterrents.

I see a trend in someone's logic - legalize illegal activity.

Nope ... sorry.

I have a plan that would deport ALL illegals within a week, but too many liberals would be screaming "Ah! the Humanity!" :run:

Deport the illegals to Vermont and New Jersey and let them take care of the situation since all the experts seem to be from there.

why's that? we have tons of illegals here too. we have problems with illegals too. the only difference is - our Governors are not repeating the same costly mistake as Virginia's Prince William County.

I thought it was Prince George County? I'm a little confused here.

It'd be a good problem to solve. One problem though, the movie assumes every illegal alien is a Mexican. Not so.

A movie.......... so I've been debating with someone who is basing his arguments, views, source on... movie.....

Oh yup, I watched this movie before and it seems ironic in some part.

I thought only convicts need their fingerprints in the database?

That and people who has legally changed their names.
All military people are in the fingerprint data system, as are all people who have had security background checks, and in South Carolina, all people who apply for conceal carry permits.

Also, as far as "convicts"; fingerprints are taken when a suspect is booked, not when someone is convicted, so there are prints of people on file who were never convicted of a crime.

Hospitals make prints of babies' feet, and some parents get fingerprints of their children to keep for identification if they go missing. Of course, these kinds of prints aren't in the computer systems but could be available if needed.

We already have a "green card" system for legal immigrants to work in the USA, so I see no need for a "limited citizenship." There are work visas and student visa available. Also, citizenship involves more than just a job. Citizenship involves loyalty to one's country. How can a person have "limited" loyalty to one's country? Either you are a citizen with all rights and responsibilities, faithful to that country, or you are not. One can be a legal resident without being a citizen.
