JClarke's next trip

Ahh, you got the point - and yeah, I am planning to visit handful of major cities to give a feel of america - you know like I said, I love the deaf community there, it is so HUGE, it is not the same as I see in Australia.

I plan to finish my bachelor at University of Canberra and after that, we'll see how I go from there. I dont really want to stick my life in Australia, just want to experience the life somewhere else.

me too. I've been looking into Dubai. I'm very tempted! :hmm:

well if I were to swap with you, that means I would be living in Australia so no thanks :aw:
looks like u dont want my job either - that's OK... i take it, u wouldn't be bothered to set your foot on australian soil anytime soon? :aw:

Yes I know you're not moving to America anytime soon but you only should visit those national landmarks WHEN you live here :)

other than that.... you should visit just major cities to get a feel of America at all four corners. and also do check out RIT since it's got a sizable deaf community & deaf school and it's more related to your field of work. Lot of graduates get hired by major firms like IBM. Its program rivals with RPI, VT and MIT.

It's best to finish your undergraduate degree in your hometown.... and then you can try to look for grad program anywhere you want. At least the cost will be lower than undergrad.

are you sure you can take all 4 weeks off at once? I have 4 weeks off too but I cannot exceed 2 weeks consecutively.
I didnt see that second part - jiro. Yes, I am allowed to take 4 weeks as long it doesn't conflict with work and the director's approval.

And don't forget the time-honored smashing a 24 oz Foster's on your head, too.
That would be a waste of Fosters then eh? I realized I said chicken on the barbie and it's suppose to be shrimp on the barbie.

Austin is worth the heat. 6th street is one of the best parties around. The bats are pretty cool too. And there are plenty of places to cool off. One of the world's best water parks is close by. San Antonio is pretty cool too. Again Dallashas nothing except where JFK was shot.

Indeed! Schlitterbahn in New Braunfels, Texas. Right in the between of Austin and San Antonio. Love it there but hate it when it comes to wait in the line for 3 hours.....

Wait...I thought Fort Worth Stockyard is pretty cool to visit around.

nope. do not want your job. and not gonna be in Australia anytime soon. perhaps later :)

Dubai is worse than Australia, if you have been caught sex on the beach, you'll be thrown in jail with your sorry ass.

:D

well then they better catch me first!

That's true......The stockyards are pretty cool. Neat bar scene too. Lots of real cowboys at the smaller bars. Usually 4 or 5 good fights on a friday night.

Just discovered and been researching around again - Air New Zealand is giving people the opportunity to take only $1,000+ roundtrip airfare to the U.S, I roughly took some 10 days trip to the states in mid - late November and it only costs me $1,100, SO DIRT CHEAP!

So I may re- consider to take 10 days in the oregon/washington state to visit friends again unless you guys can stop me :P
