Seattle is soooo different from NYC. Hard to explain but there is something about it that got me to fall in love with it.

Never been there, but I have some awesome pics from 1963 of the area. Father went there the summer I was born.
I am thinking of the next summer in 2011 - for 6 weeks, if I could just not take any annual leave for 2010, I have 4 weeks + the other 4 weeks for 2011....If you want to...up to you. You can take the Amtrak train to Seattle and hang there for a day and go back to Oregon the next day, if you like. There is tons to do here if you're an outdoor type of person. The best time to visit is in summer time, of course. It's tourist season, ha.

Yeah...the longer you save up for the vacation...the more time you have to visit many places in the US and see more of this country.
Yeah, you're right - gives me more time to plan it out and save what I need, I may as well take 4 to 6 weeks depending what the policy allows with my annual leave, I don't want to visit again in the winter, in my lifetime, when I go overseas, it is always winter. It is time for a change, and my Oregon/washington friends wants me back in the summer time.Yeah...the longer you save up for the vacation...the more time you have to visit many places in the US and see more of this country.

and the time that my Nikon D60 will be available to be used ...Yeah, good idea to escape the winter of your country and visit the hostile and muggy summer of the East US and mild summers of the northwest and dry and hot California. You also get to see more views of the mountains and the landscape during summer time when it's not so cloudy all the time, ya know? A photography opportunity for ya.

what kind of lifesytle compared with NYC?I agree. I like the people and lifestyle there as well.
Since you'll know that I am back in Australia.
Now, I am in thining mode for my next trip - my true plan was to travel again in late 2010 for 10 days but I am wondering if I just delay a bit more until 2011 where I could go back to the U.S for 4 - 6 weeks (a month long) and I would like to ask you all to throw me suggestions which city I should visit during my next visit?
The cities I would be visiting
1- New York City
2- Oregon state (Portland/Vancouver/Salem)
3- Secret city (cannot be stated here due to a surprise visit) - why would you even mention it at all if it's secret?
All ideas and suggestions WELCOME!
