JClarke's next trip

You're missing out Washington state, you really need to visit and it's worth your time. Ask Jiro. :D
I could travel to Seattle for the day?

If you want to...up to you. You can take the Amtrak train to Seattle and hang there for a day and go back to Oregon the next day, if you like. There is tons to do here if you're an outdoor type of person. The best time to visit is in summer time, of course. It's tourist season, ha.

Seattle is soooo different from NYC. Hard to explain but there is something about it that got me to fall in love with it.

Yep, very different culture and politics. The skyline does remind some of NYC in a way, though. The city here is basically laid back and sort of a car city but has pretty good transit system, but it's the beginning of rail transit system.

I am thinking of the next summer in 2011 - for 6 weeks, if I could just not take any annual leave for 2010, I have 4 weeks + the other 4 weeks for 2011....

Yeah...the longer you save up for the vacation...the more time you have to visit many places in the US and see more of this country. :)

Yeah, you're right - gives me more time to plan it out and save what I need, I may as well take 4 to 6 weeks depending what the policy allows with my annual leave, I don't want to visit again in the winter, in my lifetime, when I go overseas, it is always winter. It is time for a change, and my Oregon/washington friends wants me back in the summer time.

Yeah, good idea to escape the winter of your country and visit the hostile and muggy summer of the East US and mild summers of the northwest and dry and hot California. You also get to see more views of the mountains and the landscape during summer time when it's not so cloudy all the time, ya know? A photography opportunity for ya.

and the time that my Nikon D60 will be available to be used ...

hmmm.. I think 4 or 6 weeks in summer in 2011 should be the good plan for my next trip... I think my friends in U.S.A have to wait a little longer for my come back, yes?

That will be good - maybe you can plan on a stop in FL and we can get all of us ADers in Fl to come and meet somewhere.

I agree. I like the people and lifestyle there as well.

Since you'll know that I am back in Australia.

Now, I am in thining mode for my next trip - my true plan was to travel again in late 2010 for 10 days but I am wondering if I just delay a bit more until 2011 where I could go back to the U.S for 4 - 6 weeks (a month long) and I would like to ask you all to throw me suggestions which city I should visit during my next visit?

The cities I would be visiting

1- New York City
2- Oregon state (Portland/Vancouver/Salem)
3- Secret city (cannot be stated here due to a surprise visit) - why would you even mention it at all if it's secret?

All ideas and suggestions WELCOME!

Seattle, RIT plus Niagara Falls, Boston, Philadelphia, Austin, Dallas Miami, Orlando, Las Vegas.

Mind you - since you're doing it in summer, it'll be more expensive.
