Think in a broader sense ..... giving back to the community. These types hoard the wealth and pass it down. But you probably knew what I meant.
Who are "these types"?

My point was, people who die wealthy didn't give it away.
No one has said he claimed that. You really need to slow down and think when you are reading. Seriously.
People make that mistake .....all the time.
It breaks my heart but I have to let them down very gently .... No, I am not God ..... But Obama thinks he is.
oK.. I see the sun as the highest thing .

I don't believe this is correct. If I had to guess, a lot of wealthy people, who don't have celebrity, probably don't have a lot of people around them. If you look at Harvard's endowment, I'd bet that money had no place else to go.
Money just makes life comfortable, it doesn't solve real problem or make friends. In fact, it can make a lot of enemies.
Money always has somewhere to go.
I thought this thread was about Michael Moore?
If he says he's against capitalism and wealth but makes his fortune from capitalism, then he would be a hypocrite and liar.
If he says he's against capitalism and wealth but does NOT make his fortune from capitalism, nor does he even have a fortune, then he's living by his principles and telling the truth.
So, the only way to discern that is to know:
1. that Moore is wealthy
2. that the source of that wealth is from capitalistic business resources
If we don't know that 1 or 2 are true, then we can't say definitively that Moore is a hypocrite or liar.
It is possible that Moore doesn't invest in stocks, bonds, or businesses that would be classified as capitalistic ventures.
It is possible that Moore hasn't earned millions of dollars from his movie making. Not all movies make big profits.
It is possible that the figures given for Moore's speaker's fees aren't accurate.
Sounds like Rush to me.You kind of have to admire Michael Moore. Only in America can a poor high school barely educated individual use a capitalistic society to tell stories and make films and get rich. Then, to turn right around and scorn the whole process that put them on the map.
You know what the difference between you and me is? Feel free to list!Do you know what the difference is between God and Obama?
God doesn't think he is Obama.
That's not what Moore said on his website ( michaelmoore.com ):I believe MM's stance on Capitalism is that he opposes the abuse of Capitalism, or rather, the abuse of the power that can be seen when one holds power as the result of their wealth. Madoff woud be an example.
That's not what Moore said on his website ( michaelmoore.com ):
"I do very well -- and for a documentary filmmaker, I do extremely well. That, too, drives conservatives bonkers. "You're rich because of capitalism!" they scream at me. Um, no. Didn't you take Econ 101? Capitalism is a system, a pyramid scheme of sorts, that exploits the vast majority so that the few at the top can enrich themselves more."
That sounds like he's against the whole capitalistic system.
Other than the first $3 million (before taxes) that he earned, I don't know for sure how much he's earned in total. He's earned lots for his movies, DVD's, books, and speaking engagements. The exact amount, I don't know.Yeah but he's using a Capitalistic system to get rich. How else does he get 50 million since he started the film making business in 1989?

If you make money illegally, like stealing, that's not a Capitalistic system.

My guess is that you consider him stealing by making money from the stuff he does, since it is filled with "lies" and "slanted truths" among other things. Would this still make him a Capitalist?Making money is a Capitalistic system.
