Is Michael Moore a Hypocrite and a Liar?

You are not a Socialist, but you think Obama is...

Do you know what the difference is between God and Obama?

God doesn't think he is Obama.

You kind of have to admire Michael Moore. Only in America can a poor high school barely educated individual use a capitalistic society to tell stories and make films and get rich. Then, to turn right around and scorn the whole process that put them on the map.

Ok, I will attempt to make this as simple and straight forward as possible. Does anyone actually read what they sign anymore?

When it comes to tax records, it really doesn't matter. They are still bound by the law. Just like the "no pets clause" don't hold up in the court of Ontario.

Here it is - now that I am at a computer - and have been accused of telling a lie - I give you this article for your perusal:

Red Tape - How private are your tax records? Surprise!

Any information you give to a company that helps you prepare your taxes can be sold to anyone else. Only a single signature on a permission slip stands between you and the complete loss of your privacy. While that seems shocking -– aren't tax records sacred? -- this isn't new. The IRS says it's a long-standing practice.

Now, that is exactly why I have been asking "Do you really read what you sign your name to?"

Most people do not. I sincerely hope this information opens a few eyes and that folks would be more careful. I have seen people absolutely burned by this.

1 - You will lose, legally, if you claim you did not know what you were signing.

2 - Even if you claim the document was misrepresented at the time you signed it - you will lose.

Sales people are smug bastards about it too.

Please point to the post where I accused you of lying.

Like I said, they cannot do anything with your information as long as you don't give them the permission. If you sign without reading first, then that's not my problem. However, there are some things that cannot be legally done even if it's signed and witnessed. Anyway, they cannot share your social security number with just anyone because that would put you at the risk of identity theft.

Remember, we are talking about tax information. I never lied.

Banjo, you never said I lied. I said "someone" did, and I apologize if you thought I meant it was you.

And yes, maybe I should have phrased it better.

People speak of IRS records as if they were public information, which they are not.

The information they sell with your consent are often your names, home and e-mail addresses, age range, number of people in your household, etc. Nothing that would put yourself at risk for identity theft. But they don't disclose your tax returns. That's sealed by the IRS.

I don't sign up for that sort of thing. They don't need to know anything about me.

I have probably seen every trick there is to get someone to sign a document. Things people need to realize is this - what is said, does not matter at all. What is written down and has your signature on it, means everything. this goes outside the realm of just taxes - it applies to everything that has a contractual agreement. It applies down in the police station when the police refuse to provide an ASL interpreter, tell you to sign something and they will let you go ..... later find out you signed a confession to something you didn't do (true story to several deaf individuals).

It isn't wrong to be wealthy. It is wrong to die wealthy.

There are three kinds of wealthy people .... Those that share, those that don't and those that give it all away.

oh please - their money is not buried with them in their coffins. I sure hope I die wealthy so my money can continue to do good after I'm gone. there's a reason there are wills.

My point was, people who die wealthy didn't give it away.

I think Buffet plans to do something similar.

he's distributing most of his films for free as he claims, yet turns around and does this.

You can't do this and yet expect to have your free cookies...

Yiz

No one has said he claimed that. You really need to slow down and think when you are reading. Seriously.

What???? This isn't ancient Egypt. They don't bury it with you anymore, Steiny.:laugh2: They gave it away at some point.:laugh2:

Well, the rich nowadays won't have to worry about grave robbers nowadays. Too bad there won't be any future indy jones movies raiding the vaults of the 21 century rich.

Think in a broader sense ..... giving back to the community. These types hoard the wealth and pass it down. But you probably knew what I meant.
