I agree that there is an ebb and flow here and you are right..it will subside, but aren't members allowed to bring it up and create a thread about it?
I guess I don't see the members that are complaining being in the wrong as others seem to think.

I hate to use a work related analogy, but what I see here I also see in my job. A resident complains that people are speeding through their neighborhood...doesn't that resident have a right to call the police and bring the problem to their attention? Or should the police go to that resident and say 'How dare you tell other people how to drive...why is it any of your business how they drive?' And then leave it up to that resident to keep their kids indoors at all times because a speeding car could run off the road into the yard (not talking about kids playing in the street but in their own yard).

There is some bashing going on but there is also some discussion.
 
its not just the pictures of body parts, but the blatant statements regarding sexual experiences that I am referring to. And Beo, do you have children? I do, and I can tell you that they are very susceptible to what they are exposed to. Recently my stepson got in trouble at school for drawing pictures of scenes from SouthPark, which he had seen at his mothers house. He is only 9 years old and already has a note in his permanent file making him out to be a terrorist because of mimicking what he has seen. Do we really want to have this sort of influence on children just because we can't keep our personal expressions in the PENISARIUM where they belong?

Me too, Someone had a nerve to ask me if I would accept child porno. I got no respect for someone to ask me that question when I have children of my own.

Yup. Beo, I agree that everything's been said and it's now in Alex's. From the general feel of the rules/mission, I long ago gathered that he wants this to be a family values site and has provided other outlets within for adult content. It appears that he ranks high in the search engines and I am sure he doesn't want his rankings to fall; therefore, he will need to nip this whole thing in the bud and pronto.

Thanks for the info! I just found it in Control Panel and turned off images. Pretty nifty feature.

I guess you did not read the reply I sent to your PM to me.

Some people find the kind of material offensive that we are discussing (not child porn). You may not find it offensive and I may not find it offensive, but there are members here who do. Those members created a thread saying that they found it offensive and everyone jumped on their case about it. What everyone fails to understand is that the 'disgusted' feeling you and I get over child porn is the SAME feeling that they get over other material (even if you and I don't find that same material to be offensive). They are offended by it, the same you and I would be over child porn...and they have every right to say that they feel that way...

Keep in mind that because you and I don't find something offensive does not mean that it is not offensive.

It is a public forum and people of all walks visit here...young and old. We do need to keep that in mind.

Cheri, I don't know who said the above and I don't care to but I'm pretty sure he/she prolly meant: "Cheri, I know you wouldn't want your own children to be exposed to this crap and that is why I'm trying to have the right thing done." It's the same meaning but put differently that upset you I think.

It is nifty, but look how long it took YOU to find this feature....imagine how long it would take a newcomer to the forum to find such a feature. By that time, they may no longer be interested in the forum due to the inappropriate material they encounter in the process.

Great, Eyeth but that isn't so great for those who are coming into AD for the first time; especially deaf children by the droves who would have access to AD at their schools. AD would be shut down within a week when administrators at schools all across our land get wind of some of the content, like content we are discussing now. That's why I keep saying the quicker AD shores up the dike, the better.

How is that the same meaning Tousi? Child porno is diguested, partially naked adult is not consider to be diguested. If people don't understand art, then they don't know art like I do. I consider partially naked as art.
 
Cheri, I think what Tousi and Taylor are saying is that we all are offended by varying degrees. In other words, what I find offensive, may not be offensive to you. But, we should be respectful of one another and try to be the least offensive that we possibly can be towards one another. And pictures are not the only offensive material here in this forum (or elsewhere). Words can be just as offensive or worse.

Anyways back to the topic, I agree that some people do find it offensive, when others don't, Whatever Alex and the moderators have their final say on this, I will respect it either ways and I can see where everyone is coming from on this too...

It would be nice if we could sit down and talk about it instead of letting this go a bit too far, but oh well....:dunno:
 
Cheri, I give you the nod on "art" but children are not at the appropriate level of development for "art", IMO.

I see nothing wrong when everyone add their avators and signature where is part of nudist... like what you added your avator of butt with handcuff.... woman with breasts movement in "cartoon art" avator, EyesBlueDeaf´s butt with eye and glass... All of avator and signatures here are okay as long as there´re no PORN...

I would like to remind that nudist is not part of porn but nature. I see nothing wrong when the children look them... like TV commericals, magazines, etc..

My eldest son likes SteelX´s avator... He saved it in his file... My both sons look every avators and like them... especially SteelX´s avator and EyesBlueDeaf´s avator... I see nothing wrong with that... My young son like GalaxyAngel´s signature... man with big teeth... I can´t see the reason why I forbid my children to look any avators on any forum... I beleive Alex would ask members to remove porn avator or signatures. Of course I let them to look avators and signature except penisarium and adult section.

Yeah I second that. I see nothing wrong with ADer´s signature and avator as long as they are not porn... It doesn´t bother me really either Alex agree with creator or not and then set a new rule... :dunno: As long as I respect Alex, no matter what because it´s his forum, he need suggestion and feedback from us.

You know what I find amazing? You say this; yet you bashed me for my opinion regarding the avatars. My gripe with GA's avatar wasn't even voiced publicly. I took it private like everyone is always encouraging us to do when we have a problem with another member, rather than hashing it out here in open forum.; yet I get attacked for doing so, and also, agreeing with Eve here in public?

This was her thread, btw. I didn't create it. If you want to be mad at someone. Be mad at her.

I guess this is one of those no-win sitiuations. :dizzy:
