I have contacted my old audie from years ago, and I have an audiogram scheduled for Wednesday at 12:30. Hopefully I will be able to get copies of my previous exams and compare them with the current results. I also hope to find out what is causing my recent loss, and maybe I will look into getting fitted with HAs.

If I need HAs, I will definitely need to go back to work for Tyson to see if insurance will help pay for them. If this is the case, I can tell the audie to hold off on ordering them until after my insurance kicks in full.

If not, I will probably have to go without as I don't have the money for them currently. :(

Vocational Rehab will probably pay for HAs too, since you "need them for work, or school." Good luck.

Thanks! I will look into those tomorrow. I'm on my way to bed right now. :)

You realize that years from now, maybe even only months from now, some AD posters will decide to quote this post and insist that this is proof that you are a hypocrite that changes your position. :D

 That's true!

I can just see that coming.

Anyways, Dixie good luck and let us know what you find out!

PFH, as it stands I would rather to be soundless than to have an implant but I get you, lol.

I will let you guys know when I find out. The only downside to this is my Audie is two hours west of here in Ft. Smith. Hopefully things will go well at the Audie's office.

I wish now that I had remembered to pick up my results from my hearing test that Tyson gives to their employees annually last year before I was fired. If I go back I am required to take it again, for comparison to what the results are at the audiologist's office.

Could you get Tyson to fax your results from your last hearing test to your audiologist's office?

Yes, I bet you it will be quoted some times 4-5 years down the road....

=) =) Hope all goes well, Dixie.

Doubt it due to insurance reasons and I'm sure you have to be a current employee to get the results. Tyson is pretty strict about stuff like this.

I am pretty sure that hearing aids would come out cheaper over a lifetime of use. So the insurance companies kind of have it backwards on what they will cover.

Yes , and that leaves us reliant on them which in turns keeps them in business.

get an implant.

No, but your sarcasm clearly shows that you are anti-CI even for adults who choose it for themselves.
