Hurricane Earl

Run! Run for your lives!!

:run:

I just watched the news this morning and was surprised that the Hurricane Earl will reach in Nova Scotia in the Maritime coast on Friday. So I was wrong about Saturday or Sunday. I am way far from there to Lake Huron where I live on the Manitoulin Island. So I am not going to worry about the hurricane. It is too far anyway. But I still am worry about ADers who live on the East Coast so please stay safe. Deafskeptic, if you had experienced being in hurricane as I have never been in an hurricane before, never in my entire life. OMG. I am very lucky that I don't live near the East Coast or the West Coast. Earthquakes and hurricanes are just a mess and very dangerous to the lives of the people who has to live there. So I will continue to pray for all of you, Aders. :fingersx:

So it's coming sooner than expected? mm I'm glad I went shopping today. By noon Thurs I should be good and prepared though I don't expect anything other than wind and possible flash flooding. I don't think ti will be like 1969. Always better safe than sorry though.

According to Yahoo weather, It's expected to be sunny on friday and to be in the 90s. No wonder my chocolate chips from my GORP melted in my hands. It was 94 degrees!

It looks like Earl will bypass the Cheaspeake Bay area and go straight for Nova Scotia.

I'm wondering how your condo continues to be in business. The fire inspection is pretty strict these days. well... what can I say... move out? good luck?

hope you got a couple of large fire extinguisher in your closet.

I wonder the same thing about my condo! I have a fire extinguisher but it think no good , do they expire? Most of the peole at my condo do not like to made waves , I do and the trustees do not like that. Some men do not like women that are too out spoken !

Yes, fire extinquishers do have an expiration date; at least the last time I looked, they did.

avoid this stove (Dragonfly Stove) or related at all cost

it is unreliable and it breaks all the time. I had it replaced 3x in short time. It's messy. clumsy. and unnecessarily complicated. and aggravating.

I would not try to bring that thing on an air plane , it look like a bomb!

Well now, behind Earl is Fiona and now Gaston. I guess it's a little family reunion.

If I remember correctly Gaston eats 4-5 dozen eggs so salmonella will probably end the Gaston threat.

The problem around here is that every year we have new residents who have moved from the Midwest and are clueless about hurricanes. Our local media, print and electronic, fully cover preparedness, so there's no excuse but some people ignore common sense preparations.

That's also true for people down here. People come down from up North and are just absolutely clueless about these storms. It's infuriating, alright.

Stay safe, Reba! Earl isn't going to be a problem for us Floridians, but I'm thinking about everyone along the Eastern Seaboard!
