Just careful with skunks. Please do not try yourself at home unless you are professional.

You need put grape on track to wood. Then you need to fix up to prevent any wild animals enter your house or shed.

Best way to call animal control. They will take care for you.

Skunk is already gone!
He sprayed in my daughters room upon capture.

I have all windows open, all fans on.

I am on my BB now. Going to Wal Mart. To get some more fans and cleaning supplies.

:( Our house STINKS!!

Oh dear Babyblue! :(

How soon will the horrible smell be gone?

I don't know.

Good thing it is organic, so eventually it will go away.

I bought vinegar and baking soda along with other cleaning supplies. I have to rewash all of her clothes, take her mattress outside to air out in the sun. Etc. I am hoping the deep cleaning will curb the smell in the house.

haha oohh.. thats badd.. this week or last week When i was arriving to school in the morning, my dad was dropping me off. And there was this really bad smell and Me and my dad figured it was a skunk. The smell spreaded inside the building all the way from the athletic entrance of our school to the band hallway. The rest of the school was okay but except for the atheletic area and the band hallway area. The smell lasted for about 2 days or so..YUCK

Well, taking the mattress outside made a difference! The skunk apparently sprayed my daughters bed.

Dang! Everything in her room stinks. I told her to throw away what she doesn't want in her room. So she started chucking some things.

Mopped her floor washed her walls, washing clothes still. And her curtains. I got fans in the window blowing outside!!

It helped some with the odor. But not completely! I still have all my windows and fans blowing everywhere! Thank goodness, it is a windy, sunny day here!!!

At least my eyes are not watering anymore, from gagging!!

I just found out that I have a skunk in my basement, my son woke me up about 1 30 am and told me he heard some noises in the basement sounds of a high pitched squeaking noises, at first I thought maybe it's a rat, then he says no it could be either a squirrel or a raccoon. I thought it needs to be taken care of right way, so I called the 24 hour emergency animal/rodent removal services. Their prices were outrageous! $250.00 min rate and $45.00 per animal removal.

So, I went downstairs in the basement with a light, just to see what is really down there, sure enough a skunk was just right behind the stairs looking right at me. I knew skunks are horrible climbers, so I wasn't so worried about having a skunk chasing after me, I was more worried about the risk of getting sprayed by a skunk. Lucky I didn't. *whew* But... the bad thing is my house got invaded by the odor in the middle of the night, I woke up because the smell was so strong!, I could even smell it in the morning at 7 am.

So I called another place an animal control unit just before I went in for work, unfortunately they were not taking any emergency calls, so I left a message along with a phone number where I can be reached. I haven't heard back from them all day, I waited and waited, still no respond. It's very frustrated.

So I decided to do this on my own, set up a trap, and now waiting for the skunk to get trapped in. I don't like this plan, but what other choices do I have?

The smell was gone by the time I arrived home from work. But, once I trapped that skunk in the cage, the smell will be there again.

I got one problem though, how could I be able to carry this cage up the steps with a skunk being trapped in without getting sprayed? I haven't gave much thought. lol I think my chance for success is screwed. :hmm:

Yes, you understand it correct that I NEVER smell the skunk´s spray in my life that´s why I asked ADers to describe me what their smell alike in my previous posts. Some ADers described got me chilly... :cold:

Maybe my nose is not too shape enough to smell ... :dunno2:

Oh believe me it's not that you can't smell it, ever smelled a sewage? if so, try imagine--sewage, burnt rubber, and maybe garlic all together... :dunno:, that's how bad the smell is from a skunk the worst smell you will ever experience. That kind of smell keep you up all night long even when you're deep sleeping.

Its a smell you'll never forget once you've smelled it.

Take a plastic garbage bag and wrap it around the trap. (Don't cover the entrance or tripping mechanism) As soon as he gets trapped throw a heavy blanket or tarp over it. Skunks usually do not spray what they can not see.

Good luck...

The one hubby caught like an idiot sprayed in our home.

It stunk for for months in my daughters room. But I also found that vinager and baking soda works well to remove the smell.

Take the baking soda and sprinkle it where ever it may spray. and pour the vinegar over it to get the reaction. wash the hell out of it!

I know exactly how you feel. The dread of it spraying! If you think the smell is bad now. If the skunk sprays. OH! Your eyes will water and you will gag! I puked, when the skunk sprayed my daughters room!

I was told to use dried blood meal to get rid of skunk , or you could try getting wolf pee to scare it away! Once the skunk is gone you should close up the opening so it can't get back in. That what being done to my place. The skunk was stinking up the whole house!

I also heard of the dried worm meal. I used moth balls. It helped to keep it from under the house. It just drove the skunk to come inside my house!

Oh my!

Cheri,

Did you get rid of it yet?

My deck is being done over and it is now close off so I am hoping this will get rid of the skunk for good! The dried blood meal worked for awhile , you have replace once in awhile . I have poodle now and he bark at anything the come near the house , I think that helped somewhat. I heard moth balls are too toxic to use it can get into the ground when they desolved. How did you get the skunk out of your house without getting sprayed!? That is awful!
I also heard of people buying big rubber fake snakes to keep small animals away, I never tried it so I can't tell you if it work . Have your tried wind chimes on the house , the sound may help a little .

We didn't! It sprayed!

Damn thing started thumping his paw at hubby and hubby just threw a blanket over it and dipped it with a fishing net!

It was awful!
