"House Divided" on Fox TV about deaf teenager

I love Dr.House is good action funny and smart. lol

This is true. I cannot recall how many stupid stunts he pulled in the name of medicine. That, and he's hooked on Vicodin. And he's a disrespectful tool. I mean, in real life how many women bosses would allow their employees to make snide comments about their body? Cuddy's boobs seem to be a favorite topic of his.

Actually, he prefers her ass.

And yes, he has his flaws and normally, I like the show because it's a study of House and his nasty habits. I didn't like the implant episode because it reeked of the pro-cochlear implant propaganda.

They show him rip it out! That is FAR from positive.

I missed that part.

What House did was stupid though. If he did that to me, I'd probably knock his lights out so hard, vicodin would be useless in curing that pain. :giggle:

Seriously, why do people feel the need to alter who they are? I'd get a CI but I don't want an ugly scar and I don't want something sticking out of my head. If they ever improve that technology to where it doesn't already impede someone's looks, I might consider.

I find this so amusing. Some people are saying that the show made the CI look bad and evil causing negativity towards the CI. Some people are saying that the show made the CI look "wonderful" thus the show was all CI propaganda.

Talk about perfect example of different interpretations of the same exact thing.

That's not a bad thing.

I didn't see the end of the episode because House giving the implant pissed me off enough to make me turn it off.

Regardless, it's nothing to get pissed off about. Just a TV show but if it happened in real life, you can bet your ass that the doctor would be fired and sued for millions of dollars.

I just think it's odd that every tv show that features deaf people seems to revolve around CI...:hmm:

Not always. Go watch Little House on the Prairie: Silent Promises. It's about a deaf boy who is labeled "Wild Child" and is part of a freakshow. Then someone rescued him and taught him sign language.

See? Not about the CI... then again that show was from the early 80s... :D

And about the 1800's. They didn't even have hearing aids yet!

There is middle 90s movie without CI: Silence Beyond (Jenseits der Stille)

Star Trek Next-Gen tv show, there is deaf without deaf culture in story. I wish there is deaf culture show in that story, damnit.

Sure they did! :D
