Help

Phew! I'm glad nothing appears to be wrong with your CI and that the audie has given you a lot of maps to play around with. Are you comfortable with having it turned on at this stage and not waiting for the healing to set in more?

It really does take time to get used to everything. I'm four months post activation and have just come back from a new map at the clinic and we increased the volume quite a lot. Everything sounds really loud! I can't believe that people with normal hearing are comfortable with those levels heh heh! But as S171Soars says we need to allow ourselves 6 months basically. It's a lot of work for our brains which are used to quietness and interpret normal sounds as alarming.

Yeah, I am so much more comfortable with wearing my CI now that the maps has been turned down. So I will continue to wear my CI as long as I am comfortable. I go back on Nov 16th for another mapping.

I'm really relieved that the CI is working again and that you just needed to get this remapped. I really felt bad when your CI stopped "working".

Glad your'e tickled pink the ordeal seems to be over; now, now, just don't go overboard and sleep with it tonight! LOL! Ennyhoo, glad your'e ship-shape!

My sensitivity is at 20.

wierd my clinic evicdently sets the default setting for sensitivity at 12 cause that's what she told them the default was. the volume default is 6. I'm learning even more things.

When the Cholear rep was there for the study thing I'm participating in she set the default at those levels to.

Yes, that is my understanding as well that a sensitivity level of 12 is the default. I can never recall what the default setting for the volume. I always reset that the first thing when I'm remapped. I'm one of those fiddlin' and twiddlin' types any hearing device. Its gotta be right or I go bonkers... :D

My default is 12 as well and I don't really play around much with it.
