Ok, let me get this straight. You can't email your sister, or are the emails bouncing back?

I have a feeling that the digital ID you are referring to is actually SSL encryption.

Can you paste the rejection email into this thread? Please remove what you wish from it (Ie, email addresses, words, etc) and we'll work with the automated response.

It should be the detailed version, with something like:
The message could not be sent because the server rejected the sender's e-mail address. The sender's e-mail address was [email address]'. Subject 'Test emai', Account: 'pop.gmail.com', Server: 'smtp.gmail.com', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '530 5.7.0 Authentication Required h19sm236494wxd', Port: 465, Secure(SSL): Yes, Server Error: 530, Error Number: 0x800CCC78

That's what I'm looking to work with.

try emailing long post to your tmail and then forward it to your sister

*facedesk*

The email is just TOO long for tmail to handle it. I am going to forward it to my sister, I hate forwards, and besides if I do that she will think it is a forward email that I got from someone else.

You can remove the RE: in the subject line and the forwarding headers in the top part when it comes to your tmail so it doesn't appear as a forward to your sister. I do that all the time. I don't think there's an email so long that tmail can't handle it.

No. I typed the email to my sister in outlook express. I hit "send" but got a error message that says that I need a "digital ID" in order to send the email as it was required to do so. It had a button that said "get Digital ID", and I clicked on that. It sent me to a website that is either nonexistent or just does not work at all or whatever, a useless website. It was supposed to get me my digital ID but there was nothing on the website but an error message that said that the website is either down or nonexistent.

I did not get any rejected email, because my email was prevented from being sent by that error message. It never got sent.

Simply put, I cannot even SEND email to my sister without the error message, and no matter what I do, I am unable to get a digital ID added to outlook express and gmail so I can't send the email to my sister at all. The email NEVER even left my pc at all. It's still sitting there in outlook express.

Geez, my first post wasn't even that long.

I can access gmail in firefox just fine, I just CANNOT get the damned digital ID both while accessing gmail in the internet browser and while using outlook express. I prefer to use gmail through the outlook express, because internet is slow here. How would clearing my caches get me a digital ID? That absolutely makes no sense.

after doing a quick search -
1. Delete the certificate from Outlook by following these instructions Outlook Express, Tools > Options > Security > Digital ID > Remove
2. Request and retrieve a new certificate from the Certificate Status Page at the following link

Thanks for the discussion gentlemen,

If this helps at all it's coming from my son, he's in the US Army and it's
his MIL email address. The subject line has (UNCLASSIFIED) at the end; don't
know what that means or "if" it means anything.

He said he can send to web based email (gmail) w/o any problems, it's my
Outlook that seems to not like his email.

I can't even Rt. click his email and do anything, so I can't even see his
email addy to try sending him something.

Anymore thoughts?

Brad

Yes...

It means you "son" used his Common Access Card (CAC) and digitally signed his email using
his AKO Email address

if the post is more than 3 sentences, it's pretty long.... at least for us with ADD & short-term memory :)

how about - try to find your old email from your sister and then click REPLY - just replace the whole message with your long new message.

What email provider are you using for outlook express again? Didn't catch it earlier. sbcglobal? at&t? If you aren't sure, what's the email address associated with outlook express? ie, lucia'semail@nameofprovider.net, ie, lucia@sbcglobal.net

I need to know everything after the @ sign. You can omit your username.

And this used to work, until it stopped working recently?

*sighs*

The tmail address I use for my sidekick is not familiar with her, and the email address that she has is through the military, so I have to use an email address she is familiar with, otherwise it ends up in the trash bin. The military email address is probably why I am being told I need a digital ID but the problem is that I CANNOT GET A DIGITAL ID NO MATTER WHAT! If I had the digital ID it would not be an issue.

Well, get an ADD rx. There's tons. And I have ADD since childhood and short term memory tpp, but the post had to be that long because I had to explain it all - 3 sentences is not enough for me to explain my situation.

And you can't type in her email address?

It would appear that sending from tmail is not the issue as you were complaining it was the use of your thumbs that was the issue with sending from tmail.

I totally understand what your trying to do Lucia, but im afraid I cannot help. Hope you get your problem solved soon!

xx

And I tried to follow your quoted directions for the digital ID but when I got to the security part I clicked on "digital Id" and what I was was more complicated and had nothing about removing the digital ID or whatever, so I don't know what to do next.

I cannot, because since it is going to her military email address and she is not familiar with the tmail address it will only end up in the spam/trash bin.

I just thought of something. Your sister is able to get the digital ID for her emails because she's using military server. You cannot get digital ID for yourself since you are not using classified/secured server. Since you are not able to email her - that's probably because of her military server's security setting is probably very high that it will reject accepting any emails from any public email services such as hotmail, yahoo, gmail, etc. There's a very high chance that it will accept only email addresses provided by ISP.

so MAYBE... your situation can be solved by finding your sister's old email and then just reply to it.

Just a thought....

Gmail, like I said in my first post. "whatever"@gmail.com, which I have always used.

I didnt read all of it, but I got a question, have you email your sister to that military email address before?

You. Do. Not. Get. It.

The issue here is that I am required to have a digital ID but am unable to obtain one like I already said in my first post. Read that post again.

As for what you just said about the tmail -

Tmail is sidekick's email provider. #1 - I cannot use tmail because I can't type such a long email with my thumbs - I will end up with sore thumbs.

#2 because the email address my sister has is with the military, I have to use my gmail one as it is one that my sister is already familiar with it and has it in her address book so I have to use the gmail one not the tmail, the tmail one will only end up in the trash/spam bin.

#3 we tend to send each other long emails, so tmail won't be good enough. I prefer gmail so I can use the PC to type on a regular keyboard.

You're just giving me shit. I know you don't like me, and that's fine. But don't give me shit for this.

Important: got this box ticked in on your Outlook express settings?
It's in Tools -> Accounts -> click on the whatever mail.google.com properties, head to the Servers tab.

Last box needs to look exactly like this, along with same numbers.

Last and most important question. Were you able to send emails to your sister in the past using your gmail in outlook express?

Just a thought....

I cannot email her at any other old email addresses she used to have, she isn't allowed any other email address except the military one.

I want to talk to my sister, dammit it. If all of you have nothing helpful to say, no helpful advice to help me obtain a damn digital ID, then just say so. Stop giving me useless suggestions of which I have told you all in my first post that I have already tried those things first. Why do you all repeat yourselves? Geez.

Either help me figure out how to OBTAIN a digital ID, or don't say anything.
