No, I speak in movie quotes/paraphrases all the time. It's probably from 100 different westerns in some form. Sci Fi movies too. Seems directors in the 50's and 60's think Indians and aliens spoke alot alike....:laugh2:

There is also a version of it in the old Ten Comandments movie. Apparently movie people think they spoke like Indians and aliens too.

Asking for a source to back up a claim is relevant.

Then cite it. Otherwise, you are guilty of not only violating the rules of AD, but of a crime. Someone else wrote the words you are claiming as your own.

Here is your source: 20 years of formal education, many more than that in informal education, reading virtually tens of thousands of books, peer reviewed articles, and research reports, and life experience. That is my source.

Supporting an argument is a courtesy in debate. Most of us here, on both sides, tend to extend that courtesy. :)

Here is my support for everything I have to say that you request support for: 20 years of formal education, more than twice that in informal education, reading literally tens of thousands of books, peer reviewed articles, and research reports, informed observation, and life experience. Can't be reduced to a link. Get over it.

No, it's up to you if you wish to extend the same courtesy offered by others.

But when you make a statement like "it's already be proven" it is certainly not unreasonable that other posters might request a source so that they might judge for themselves. It's then your choice whether or not to extend that courtesy.

You know, I've learned that the sooner you accept that some people are just shameless hacks that can't provide sources because they make stuff up, the better off you'll be. That's just me. Take it or leave it.

It doesn't sound like you to take such a cheap shot. Are you okay? On the other side of the coin, I see some posters making tons to links to back up their statements, but remain profoundly ignorant. But that is just me.
 
It's absolutely true. One can go nuts trying to figure out why people lie so blatantly and don't seem to care. That's a good way to waste a lot of time and energy. It's just easier to accept that that's the way some people are and move on.

I sympathize with you. I don't use my energy that way, though, and I agree it is a waste of time. I think part of what you are referring to is the ring of truth: some posts have it while others don't. The person you belittle simply is not a liar, and I will just let it go at that. Sounds like you had a difficult day. If so, I hope tomorrow is a better one for you. Right now I will head up to my bed and check my eyelids for holes.

I agree 100%. Sometimes it's not about the argument. :)
 
TXgolfer, see what I mean? It'd be a very dishonest, conniving, and even in some circles they'd call it an unprofessional response. But then again it could be that some are just plain lazy or are constantly trying to save face.

As for a crime. What crime? Man, what a ditzy claim.
