I'm shocked that O2 simulator device can crack code P0420 or P0430 in older OBD-II such as 1996-99. They will not work with 2000 model year or later, I delight it.... In my 20 year of smog inspection, I never see any O2 simulator devices before...If I see this device under visual inspection then fail it for modification.
The O2 sensor simulator device will not help the vehicle to pass California smog inspection because of high emission such as HC, CO and NOx due to deteriorated cat converters and stored codes or mode 6 in PCM. My view on O2 sensor simulator device is US EPA offender, and scam....
PS: P0420 is CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD BANK 1
P0430 is CATALYST SYSTEM EFFICIENCY BELOW THRESHOLD BANK 2
Bank 1 is located at cylinder #1 or spark #1. For 4 cylinder engines alway have one bank=P0420. P0420/P0430 are often found in V6,V8,V10 or V12 engines also BMW 6 in-line engines have 2 banks...

Yeah you looked up the old one, look up the new ones, they look just like an o2 sensor, cant tell the difference at all installed. No codes and passes, why else would someone mod the cars if they couldnt keep it streeted?
Ah, make em look real and dont have to change out or swap anything just for inspections....hahaha.

If you look back at my pictures of the chromed out SBC 350 in my 78 Caprice Classic 2 door sleeper, do you see an EGR...nope, do you see a vapor canister...nope... all required, but not there or functional and it passed emmissons. There are always ways to fool or get around the stuff, I didnt even have a cat on it and this is when they hooked the tubes to the exhaust pipes to take a read... passed every time, and it made 9 seconds on the 1/4 mile strip...

My old coworker's car was 2001 and no problem with O2 simulator. Are you sure that 2000 or newer won't works? First you thought O2 simulator was BS, then what's next?

cylinder engines would have one primary (upstream) and one secondary
(downstream) oxygen sensors. Smart O2 Simulator connects between one
primary and corresponding secondary oxygen sensor. Six and eight cylinder
vehicle requires two O2 Simulators, one for each bank.

The racing events don't causing pollution like over thousands of cars on road.

I love pollution... breath it every day, and it will never dissappear....like anyone but the government really cares, except for the nut cases.

If you stuff O2 sensor simulator device under the carpet and wired to O2 harness in your older OBD-II vehicle then you are good.
You hate EGR and EVAP canister, same in California if you own 1975 or early. Cool...

OK, the PCM for 2000 model year or up, have sensitive to electrical flow (current) in O2 sensors, but for O2 sensor simulator device installed, PCM will notice strange O2 sensors activity in heavy accelerate/ deaccelerate, able not control spark time, can't throw precise air/fuel metering proper.
Then you ask me why this device is BS? Because the instruction sheet is lack of information and no telephone for tech support... how can I trust? Scam..

Pollution is bad for your health and it could cause lung diseases, including asthma, chronic bronchitis and COPD. That why we have a lot of government regulation on pollution to protect the public health.

Above, I'm not playing with you, but you made a nonsense statement over pollution. I'm suggesting you to buy a plane ticket and go to China (Shanghai) and stay for one week, so come back and see about what happen to you, also pollution is a lot worse in China today than in US during 60s/70s.

There are small numbers of my relatives have asthma due to pollution during childhood. :roll:

Im not arguing, I know there is pollution, but its everywhere, never going to stop no matter how many regulations get put into place.. proven fact....just open the eyes....lol

Just lower the pollution to make safe or acceptable - see air quality level.

No one could rid of pollution completely, but make lesser is better.
 
Also, not forgot - California's regulation on pollution has anything with climate change rather than protect the public health.

I worked for Health And Hospitals Division ( Federal Position )
There were monitor stations set up to monitor air polution throughout the city and monitored throughout the year. Here is what the results were.

Monitor stations were set up near busy intersections or highways, others were set up in school yards or parks throughout the city. Now guess what...?

The monitors close to busy intersections or highways showed elevated air pollutions given off by vehicles, higher during the days than at night, why? Rush hour traffic and bussinesses are open.
The monitors located in parks or school yards that were located away from traffic barely showed any pollution if any at all.

The government will elevate or"inflate" their findings to "force" or "brainwash" people to believe its worst than it really is when its not.

There has been some whistle blowers and thats why all the sudden there are changes being made, the rubber dickies being removed from fuel pumps for one. ... Global warming? Thats a bunch of crap too, Mother nature has changed the earth since day one. Every so many billions of years it changes drastically. How did the dinosaurs get burried so deep in the ground? Why are they finding ocean corals in the rocky mountains and other mountains where there is no water for hundreds of miles, especially no oceans? She's covering up her mistakes and we are next.

like freezing the chip-coded car stereos can be by-passed by FREEZING it in the freezer (inside plastic bags of course -suctioned out to avoid condensation) this trick nulls and renders the code-chip dead and so the radio/cd player will work on any other car...
