I doubt it.
Yep ... they would even allow SLAP rounds for us lowly civvies too ...
I doubt it.
I doubt it.
What happened to the Quote? I think they would but everyone is entitled to their own opinion. What government would want their citizens armed with semi automatic or automatic weapons?
The militia of these free commonwealths, entitled and accustomed to their arms, when compared with any possible army, must be tremendous and irresistible. Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man against his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birth-right of an American … the unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people. - Tenche Cox, 1788
An armed man is a citizen. A man without arms is a subject.

Israel. Switzerland. Austria. South Africa. and.... USA
you know what these countries have in common? everyone is entitled to their own opinions.
Curious - think we would win a war against our own government? With our so called militia.
Any Government not in fear of a free people.
That pretty much sums up what the 2nd Amendment was all about - the militia .... are we the people and, we the people have the birthright to have every terrible implement of the soldier.

so we should just give up?Do you really think that owning a gun is going to keep you from being lined up to a ditch and shot? You might not be lined up next to it, but by the end of the day you would be in it with the others. and there are a lot more manpower than army does.
Big difference between then and now is then you had people hunting for their food and using the gun/rifle for protection that if you were good could shoot maybe twice a minute. The big difference between then and now was you didn't have wackaloons running around with semi automatic weapons going into a schools and movie theaters killing numerous children, if you did the founding fathers probably would of worded the 2nd amendment differently.
As I said previously, if you legal gun is used to kill or maim others even if it is stolen the owner should be held liable because with gun ownership comes great responsibility!
Switzerland is a bit of a stretch. They have their own militia, but they don't bring guns home.
Israel. Switzerland. Austria. South Africa. and.... USA

You better check up on Austria, Israel, South Africa and Switzerland, I think your information is not correct or out of date.
Switzerland allows service members to keep their service weapons but does not allow them to have ammunition for them, so they have in affect a baseball bat.
They also have some of the most restrictive gun ownership laws in Europe.
Israel allows soldiers to keep their weapons while on active duty. Other citizens must pass a safety course, have no history of mental illness, or a criminal record, be of good health, and be a resident for 3 consecutive years. Finally they have to be a certain age: 20 for women who completed military service, 21 for men who have done the same. 27 for those with no military service and 45 for residents of Jerusalem. They may also only own one handgun and up to two rifles.
Austria: You can only own semi automatic weapons with special permission and all other guns have strict regulations and you must be 18 or older to own a firearm. Exceptions to the gun laws in Austria are flintlocks and matchlocks which aren't regulated.
South Africa: Must pass a competency test, background check, you home has to be inspected, and then you will get a permit. Guns permitted are handguns, shotguns and rifles that are not fully automatic or able to be converted to automatic status.
thank you for proving me right that these governments do allow citizens to have guns
United States: you can only own semi automatic weapons. you must be 21 years old or older to buy a firearm. you must pass a background check. fully-automatic weapons are banned. you must pass test and background check for CCW permit.
they do allow it and we don't in here. These four countries allow you to own guns, but unless your in the military you aren't going to have an automatic one and they have severe restrictions on semi automatic weapons or do not allow them.
However, none allow a child to own or shoot a firearm.
they do allow it and we don't in here.
Switzerland
Israel
and I'm sure you get the point now....

You're assuming that everyone in the Army would stay in that Army.Do you really think that owning a gun is going to keep you from being lined up to a ditch and shot? You might not be lined up next to it, but by the end of the day you would be in it with the others. An army has a lot more firepower than you do.
Legally the government does not allow it, if they chose to break the law, so be it. "You don't have to be crazy but it helps."
