Which side of the car is the gas cap on your vehicle?

Is it on the passenger side or the driver side?

Do you like where it is?

On my car, it's on the driver side... which is convenient since I can pull up to the gas pump, get out, and pump gas... instead of walking around to the other side of the car.

I prefer right side since it's full-service in here. easier to get filled up when you pull into gas station.

Driver's side, just a couple of steps when I get out of my SUV and refuel.

Mine's on the left - opposite from the driver's side and didn't you know that my car is capless?

really? interesting! how does it work?
Yep, it is capless, where I don't have to worry about forgetting to put the cap in - all I need is to open the lid, and put in the guzzle in the hole and fill her up then once finish - close the lid, we're good. it is called easy fuel capless.

The cap-less is a new technology that has been evolved into ford cars nowadays. This is the image and what it is looks like ;)

ah... that is very convenient but I believe it's the law for car manufacturers to include gas cap in here because of safety reason. USA is pretty anal about safety. Gas Cap prevents gas fume emitting from gas tank. and also from car flip-over.

Not only safety.... it's also part of emission reason as well. :)

Nope, that won't be needed, the capless end down the bottom has a closure at all times, and it closes automatically when finished.

I guess we just like redundancy and reliability. technology always fail. manual gas cap never fails.

Interestly, In California, any vehicles on this state must have gas caps for emission and safety reasons. If the gary marketed vehicles (refers to imported vehicles) brought in for smog check, are subject to refering to the REFEREE CENTER to inspect the emissions to see if they meet the California's stringent emission. I don't test on the gary marketed vehicle unless the BAR label stamped on the door jamb. (BAR= Bureau of Automotive Repair)
Maybe the capless fuel systems will be here in the future?

Mine's on the passenger side....when I first bought my car, I stopped at the gas station to get some gas/fill it up.....couldn't find where to get the gas in! I looked and looked (at the drivers side) feeling more stupidier by the moment! Had a hard time finding the button to pop the gas lid too!

And it took awhile before I could remmy to pull up on the passenger side at the gas pump to get gas!

These "newfangled" gadgets are a pain in the ass sometimes!....My son told me "we've got a CD player in the trunk!"....And I said "What?" ahhhh, come on! Why would they install a CD player in the trunk of a car?.....".....But that's been around for over 10 years!

he said "Ford" so I'm assuming in America as well.

I would be afraid someone could try to steal gas from my car if there isn't any lock.

The EasyFuel no-cap fuel systems are now available on the US Ford vehicles like Mustang, Focus and Fusion.

Dont believe me? go to Fordvehicles.com Type EasyFuel in the search box and u will be surprise USA Fords get same system as Aussie Fords...

BTW most of my cars had their gas doors on the left except for the 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix that had its fuel fill behind the license plate!

Yes, I have seen the no-cap fuel system on the newer Ford vehicles.

My car's on the driver side. Most Hondas are like that.

Not one person will be able to get the fuel out of this system. IF a hose is put in, it wont work either - the other end is always closed.
