Gas Cap?

Not one person will be able to get the fuel out of this system. IF a hose is put in, it wont work either - the other end is always closed.

lot of cars have feature that prevents people from stealing gas thru gas cap. here's a simpler way - drill a hole in gas tank underneath lol

:laugh2: what if the car is low enough that the tank is unreachable?

not a problem in here. 2 reasons - uneven terrain and it's illegal to have a very low car.

plus - if the thief is very determined.... just use a jack

BTW most of my cars had their gas doors on the left except for the 1977 Pontiac Grand Prix that had its fuel fill behind the license plate!

My father used to own a car with a fuel fill behind the license plate. It was a pain in the ass though.

yep. same. we used to have buick back in 80's. if you are not careful, that dang thing will close on your hand like a mouse trap.

Which side of the car is the gas cap on your vehicle?

Is it on the passenger side or the driver side?

Do you like where it is?

On my car, it's on the driver side... which is convenient since I can pull up to the gas pump, get out, and pump gas... instead of walking around to the other side of the car.
Mine is also on the driver's side, which I agree with you, is more convenient.

I used to have a car with the gas cap hidden behind the rear license plate.

I prefer right side since it's full-service in here. easier to get filled up when you pull into gas station.
NJ doesn't trust drivers to fill their own gas.

The EasyFuel no-cap fuel systems are now available on the US Ford vehicles like Mustang, Focus and Fusion.

Dont believe me? go to Fordvehicles.com Type EasyFuel in the search box and u will be surprise USA Fords get same system as Aussie Fords...

oh, wtf?. Big change in the emission system of the automobiles.:-o

 quite possible! When I was young, I was puzzled to why I cannot fill it myself. My father explained to me that it's the law. I'm still puzzled to this date......

Corvettes have the gas filler on top of the trunk, in the center, right?

Oregon is like that too. They have full service gas stations like NJ also.

by law?

I usually prefer to fill it up myself because the waiting time would be short and I trust myself to do it. Sometimes gas attendant would accidentally scratch your car when attempting to insert the hose in. sometimes when removing the hose, the gas would leak onto car body which can ruin the paint.

yes, by law. All gas stations have attentants to fill up the gas for you.

yep on the older vettes, the gas filler on the left side of the latest vettes, I think (last time I inspected the gas cap for functional test under the smog inspection procedure).

Yeah, I remember seeing cars like that when I was a kid.

Reminds me of National Lampoon's Vacation when Clark got a new station wagon. When he pulled into a gas station and looked for the gas cap, he thought it was the license plate. So, he pulled it hard and ripped it off. Oops!

It's a weird law. beside I hate trying to communicate with someone who doesn't understand me. If I do it, I get it right.

in our state, it's a law to allow children out while you are pumping gas, or even let your children do it for you. I can understand that.
