Garmin Nuvi Recall

Yeah, i have been through three lemons...dayum it.

i have been through Magallean and TomTom.. i dont really like both. Garmin, even worse!! 3rd lemons.

i am hoping for 4th GPS is NOT lemon.

I'm wondering... have you tried changing the settings to fit your needs? is it positioned in the car where it has a good reception with satellites?

and do you handle it nicely?

I've had the Garmin Nuvi 255 for a couple years. No problem so far. Need to update the maps though.

hmm... ok... *pretend to look busy to avoid awkwardness*

Beats me.

Okay.

I used to have TomTom GPS, but I lost it somewhere. I bought a Garmin, but I suspected that it may be defective and recalled. I have not looked up my serial number yet.

I still have not decided to buy a new one...TomTom or Garmin????

I would suggest TomTom for you. Very easy to input the address. I love its qwerty keyboard and Red-Light Traffic Camera warning.

But I like Garmin especially for adventure type because of its more advanced feature that most of you don't need - MapSource and BaseCamp. I love playing around with GIS, maps, etc.

With that kind of record, are you sure it's not operator error?

For some reason, I don't know why my post was not posted. Anyway, I checked my Garmin serial number and it is not recalled. But, it is slightly defective anyway. I use it for now until I have enough money to buy Garmin NUVI 1690T with LMT.

Anyway, interestingly, I went to Toyota service dept this morning for free 5K maintenance service. Then, I was told my car is one of million Corollas have a recall. GAS PEDAL. No wonder I felt so weird while hitting a gas pedal when I first got a car last May. But, it did not bother me later on until this morning. I am just glad that it was not that serious defective or accident since I got that car. Whew. Now, it is resolved and fixed at no charge. Then, I am satisfied.

Whew! I'm glad you got the gas pedal fixed. :)

I'll have to let my friend know about this. He has a Garmin Nuvi unit. We'll see if he has one of them.
