what? where you getting these prices from? unless... you use different brand.
 
I bought my second Garmin gps (first one was stolen), and one week later it shut down for good. Power plug, charger is working fine. I return it back to bestbuy to get money back. I use iphone for GPS-priceless. =)

TCS (Hubby) has that model; it's not recalled.

But you can check the serial number at the website to be sure.

Ur right, yes it's $49. It's still cheaper to buy one anyway. I'll probably just get the Samsung Epic 4g and do that method. I don't wanna bother with a GPS device AND a phone that has GPS support.

cheaper how? Most GPS devices are over $200. I bought all of my GPS from ebay or my forums at discounted price. I would never trust some $50 GPS.

I saw some for $100. One for example, this one is a great GPS device from what I've seen before.

I know, it's cheaper to replace mine if I were to go that method. I cannot use it while it's charging, which sucks. I got it for free from a friend about over a year ago.

What s wrong with your iPad to use it with car mount? But i know that your iPad is WiFi only. if have your jailbroken iPhone, can tethering to iPad.

How was your first Garmin GPS stolen? Broke your vehicle s window before stealing?

I bought a brand new TomTom GPS for $100 from newegg.com. It is one year old now and it's work great. It's better than Garmin for quick boot up under 5 seconds and battery life 5 hours. I tried friend's Garmin and oh my god. boot up take almost one minutes!
Plus cheaper for update.

my garmin 255w were whack: touch screen is whack because it is NOT funcation..i was like, dayum, another bug. why am i getting two gps that have bugs in. DAYUM.

i need to find gps that dont give me a much bad luck.
