Gallaudet's Fernandes wants all state deaf schools closed down, protesters say

State of Nevada are working on about build new deaf school in Nevada but not sure, also if happen then it will split some students from CSDR that where some deaf students who from Las Vegas area are going to out of state school, mostly attend at CSDR.

Also I have read on some researcher's article - he said more people believed the stories thru forums really fast, instead of believing the history book, for example Cold War is a World War 3, that hasn't proved yet, but people's opinions do change other people's opinion really fast. No, there's a big difference between conclusions based on logical reason as compared with speculation. Speculation is just making things up. We are presenting logical conclusions by analyzing her policies.

Deaf students are better off mainstreaming in public schools. They would be more prepared for the world than they would if they went to state school.

I used to go to a state school for the deaf. Education there is a joke. When I was in the 7th grade, the schoolwork was so easy that even my sister in 1st grade could do them herself, and she is hearing.

Hey... I do not hate Fern... but from what other deafies at Gally I guess Fern has kind of snotty attitudes... I dont mind if she becomes president, but she needs to change her attitudes toward the students...

That's the good point. There are several good deaf schools while probably more no-good deaf schools. So it ain't all good for them to close all deaf schools.

Also to remember that it often showed deaf students who grew up at certain deaf schools has developed more as a whole than there are with deaf students growing up in many mainstream schools. We and I have seen this that amongst my friends at college. That was the big difference we spotted so fast even on the first day or two when we were freshmen. Later on they eventually caught up and become more whole in general at Gallaudet in speaking of social skills, self-esteem, sport skills, open communication etc. They even admitted that.

Not all mainstream schools are so good either, so remember that. Although, I do agree that there are several horrible deaf schools they ought to have them closed (aka Mississippii, Georgia, etc).

While that more than often those mainstreamed students learnt better English and few. Obviously!

It shows more reasons why we really don't want JF to run as Gally Prez. She doesn't know what the heck she's talking about, sometimes. She never attended to a deaf school before. To add that with her lack of leadership plus her well-known snobby characteristics on her part signs a bad combination for the unique leadership spot for the deaf world.

Bump her out and replace her with Ron Stern whom will do more good overall, I trust!
 
I can't beleive this shit. I read all posts of this thread and do you guys realizing this is just talking shits. There is no edvience or proof that Fern was actually saying that. In that case, she says that, thats her opinion doesnt mean she is not fitting for the president of gally. Protesters were saying that because they are Anti-Fern, enough said. Just same thing about George Bush.

P.S. Everyone knows the deaf education in the USA, who knows, in the world, still suckass. I rather be in hearing world, taking a mainsteam classes, have a REAL education. Parents are fault for sending thier deaf kids to the right school with a bad education. Why is that? Parents trust in the board of education to tell them what to do since parents have no experience about deaf world.

My real opinion is Deaf education is fucking retard. No offense to everyone.

I worked with Cecy Rosen's group to write the grant for the charter school for the deaf in Las Vegas. We won big money for the school and they thanked me with a stab on my back. Recently like 3 yrs ago they asked me to help them with it again and I turned them down.
