What is your problem? They have rights to file a complaint if they feel bother about situation at Gallaudet University, so all complaints are subjecting to review by administration. It is their decision to remain anonymous to official or media. There is no wrong to ask to be anonymous and you aren't getting around my business.

That's ok and it is just in your dream. M.J. Bienvenu isn't going left Gallaudet University anytime soon and she is very important professor in ASL department.

The compliant was about someone exercising their right to participate in the political process. The accuser/s tried to create problems for McCaskill at her workplace because she took part in this constitutionally protected process. That alone is wrong. IF Beinvenu and Smith are in fact the accusers then it would appear they tried to cause problems for McCaskill because they have a different political belief. That would be bullying....and very wrong. And possibly very illegal.

Sure, I'll agree with you. They DO have a right to complain. But they are cowards for not putting their names out there at the beginning.

Sure, I'll agree with you. They probably will not leave. Gallaudet University will suffer with them on the faculty. Now all the staff and students know they might get snitch on. It will be very uncomfortable when everyone is looking over their shoulders wondering about their fellow students and teachers being a snitch. Both would serve Gallaudet best by moving on.

Yep, this looks really bad for Hurwitz IMO. Especially when McCaskill suggested they open a dialogue with students and the person who filed the complaint demanded an apology. An apology for participating in the election process.....

That is actually a common tactic. So common, in fact, an apology was demanded from me or I wouldn't be able to .......

I still have all the emails.

They filed a complaint about questioning with McCaskill's job position and they felt that job position as diversity director conflicts with her interest. The administration at Gallaudet University has to act and sort all issues out.

It is their matter of privacy to not mention their name and you need respect their privacy if they don't want mention their name. It looks like you are trying to nosy about us and do you really want to know about everything from every people.

Not really, Gallaudet University will not suffer with faculty members and they had deal with disputes in past, especially 1988 and 2006 protest. I know that Gallaudet University is trying very hard to resolve the issue with McCaskill and it will be possible to have compensation if her reputation is damaged because of complicated administration review and all other issues that university have.

Guess who pays for that compensation? Me and all the other hard working tax-payers, that is who. Gallaudet gets tax money, does it not? If so, me and all other hard working tax-payers are getting screwed.

"has to act"? By placing the person on leave? I don't think so.

Excuse me, but last time I checked the only federal laws pertaining to the release of confidential information refers or only applies to matters of national security, something such as HIPPA or criminal background checks. Otherwise it would only be a civil liability case if even then but certainly not in all circumstances. Could your employer fire you for it? Most likely they could in some circumstances but probably not all. Federal law does not apply to all matters of confidentiality!

OCR and DOL

That is what makes it cowardly. The accuser/s did not respect McCaskill's privacy.

Well, that's shit happens. *shrugs*

Gallaudet University does receive federal funding.

I'm more concerned about welfare fraud over Gallaudet University make a mess. It wasn't first time for Gallaudet University to make a mess.

actually no. the complaint was that McCaskill's action may have interfered with her job. in short - a conflict of interest.

That is what makes it cowardly. The accuser/s did not respect McCaskill's privacy.

and you do not respect accusers' concern that her belief may have interfered with her job?

"has to act"? By placing the person on leave? I don't think so.

When I mention - has to act, it means Gallaudet University has to do EVERYTHING, such as review the complaint, individual discussion, administrative leave, meeting and all other tools that university is trying to figure it out about complaint.

The petition is public and anyone can read petition whoever signed it, so it wasn't two faculty members fault because they access to petition that opens to public.

and you do not respect accusers' concern that her belief may have interfered with her job?

Exactly, that what I was means.

But, they tried to use that against McCaskill....This appears to have been a personal vendetta rather than a genuine concern. :dunno:
