frustrated!!!!

I would suggest a medical leave/withdrawal. Then I think, if you get granted a medical leave, you could get tuition refund (at least in my ex roommate's case, they refunded her tuition when she got medical leave/withdrawal) or at least get all your grades waived for that semester so you won't get any F's. And then return to school the following semester. That way your GPA won't be affected...at least my ex roommate's GPA wasn't affected. She was granted a medical leave/withdrawal due to ESRD (End Stage Renal Disease) and needed to take a semester off so she could have a kidney transplant done.

Teachers can give students INC to allow student to retake courses under serious circumstances.

I am SO frusterated...I missed about a month of school due to having bronchitis (i'm also asthmatic) and then i got the flu...SO newho i came back to school and got put in group projects for 3 classes of mine and i got put with other ppl who decided to not go to class...Well i had a LEGITIMATE reason for not going to class..so now im stuck with the ppl who NEVER come to class...so now for 2 classes i am by myself for the projects the group went from 5 ppl to ONE...ME! One of my teachers didn't care at all! SHe was like well u have to deal with it and just do the presentation and PRETEND the other side that i am arguing is there..It's a MOTION assignment so it's a "trial". last time i checked you couldldn't argue by yourself ..but APPARENTLY i have to..which sucks! 2 Ppl dropped out of the class last week with 3 weeks left in the semester so there are 2 of us for a 5 person project...and again for a mediation assignment the group went from 2 parties a lawyer for each party and a mediator to a group of ONE..who should i be...i think the mediator so i can say the mediation has been thrown out and adjourned!...arrggg

I also feel like crying cuz i still don't have new hearing aids so im frusterated with classes and on top of it all i have to do all these projects that are worth big chunks of my grade...and it's like the profs don't even care :(

I know what it is like to be so sick for so long. Last year I got a really bad case of bronchitis, and I was sick for about a month, too. It was horrible. I hope I don't get bronchitis again! Ugh.

I suggest that you get a medical withdrawal/leave. That way you can drop out of those classes, possibly get your tuition refunded, and even get your grades for those classes waived so that you don't get F's. I got a medical withdrawal from one class once a long time ago, and I got my tuition for that class refunded, plus my grade was waived (otherwise I would have gotten a F), and also my ex roommate, who had ESRD, got a medical withdrawal/leave for the entire semester (she had just started the semester when she learned she had gotten to ESRD and had to drop out right away so she could have a kidney transplant done) and she got her tuition for the entire semester refunded plus all the grades for all her classes waived. Her GPA wasn't affected. Neither was mine.

Hmm..well I went to the ombudsperson about an extension before because one teacher wouldn't grant it, so maybe I will go back to him and tell him what was going on before. I hate to blame it all on my "problems" but I usually am a good student and organized and stay on top of things, but with all the problems i've been dealing with with my bf/ now ex it's been hard cuz i haven't sat down and had me time since i found out about his drug abuse...I broke up with him so that he'd realise he needs help and his mom tells me he's finally not doing it..so it makes me happy that he got a wake up call but sad cuz i love him so much and sad it had to be this way.

INC is worse than an F. It says you never completed, BAD!

Nope. F means you FAIL at everything what you learned or did in the class. Inc means you did not complete course due to whatever reasons. You can justify why you had INC but no one would believe you why you got F in course.

Not necessarily.

At my old college (Saint Cloud State University), I've gotten INC's for a couple of classes. But, at my college, if you got a INC, you are still ok as long as you complete your work before the next semester is over, and turn all the work in before the last day of the next semester. I did that, and got good grades, and my GPA was adjusted to reflect the completed work turned in before the last day of the next semester.

So an INC does not necessarily mean you never completed.

I've gotten INC's and didn't have to retake my courses. All I had to do was complete the work and turn it in before the last day of the next semester. And then I got good grades, and my GPA was adjusted to reflect the new grades.

Yea it depends on teachers if they willing to do that. I'm saying that its better to ask for INC than withdraw completely from college.

You don't have to withdraw completely from college. It can be 1 or 2 classes, like in my case, I didn't withdraw from the entire semester, just a couple classes. I wasn't able to carry a full-time class load at the time.

There is only one class that I am doing really well in while the others I am not. The reason why I am not in the others are because they have mandatory group projects and one of the classes that doesnt have the group project we have 3 units and i missed a whole unit so i failed tha unit when i was sick...so im not failing that class..just not doing well..but the others rely on the group stuff and one of my classes the group projec is worth 40% of my grade :(

You simply completed what you couldn't complete, Lucia.

But what I'm saying is it's bad when you finish with an incompleted grade. BAD, because F do mean you completed, but failed.

F = Fail after studying, reviewing, and yelling at teacher
INC = Incomplete which means you didn't do crap, you just sat there and stratch your sweaty balls.

You obviously never went to college.

Teachers will NOT give you INC if you "didn't do crap, just sat there and scratch your sweaty balls" lmao. Teachers will just give you F period. The only way you can get INC if you are able to get on teachers' good grace that you find yourself in a situation that make you could not complete the course.

Teachers are not the ones that decide whether you get an incomplete in a medical situation you'd have to go to the head of the dept or chairperson or i can go to the ombudsperson. I'd rather have an incomplete than a Fail

Ok good luck :)

Exactly. Final grades of "incomplete" are *only* given under circumstances that are beyond a student's control (such as medical illness).
