Former cop sues Kentucky hunting store after accidentally shooting off his own finger

OK, however he can file a lawsuit, can't he? What's more, it's up to the jury to decide so wait and see. If you don't want to wait and see, I completely understand.
Anyone can file a lawsuit. Whether or not he prevails is another matter, to be decided in court.

edit:

Ha, ha, you beat me to it! I just saw your post.

Cop careless in not checking it out properly.

Gun store liable for failure to ensure it was unloaded.

The officer should prevail due to pain and suffering and, permanent loss of income.

stupid is as stupid does. The gun shop is partially liable for having a loaded gun in the store, however, the cop has to share liability because as a gun owner and not to mention a "professional" he should have checked to make sure the firearm was not loaded, that's like rule number one in handling a gun.

There is no such thing as an accidental discharge. Any "accidental discharge" is due to negligence. It was a negligent discharge - and the Officer is responsible for the negligent discharge as his finger pulled the trigger.

*smh*

but wow. the store employee just simply give him a gun. in here (NJ), when an employee hands me a gun... it's like this -

I just tried my friend's .45 and it was not load. He said he dont like idea for load gun all time during carry-in because he have two kids so that's all you have to pull the slide to load. And Yes, I was taking magazine off then double check inside before I pulled the trigger at safe area.

This is not load (without magazine)

Really ?? Sorry about that, I didn't notice any heavy porn . The guy most likely was in stock at first and it may had taken a second of the wound to get bloody or the part was not showed.

Again, Cop failed to check inside during he pulled the slide.
Some commenters outside of AD think that he saw it and intentionally fired it on himself. Oh well, that's the defendant's job to prove that it happened that way, even though the employee of the gun shop was supposed to inspect the gun to make sure it was not loaded before handing it over to a customer (which I believe it's a requirement for all gun shops).

that's fine. every gun owner has a different preference for concealed carry. chambered but uncocked. unchambered and uncocked. or lock n' load. etc. etc.

for me... my preference for a CCW gun is no safety... no decocker... single-action only... chambered and cocked...

actually the gun you posted may be loaded even without magazine. a bullet could be chambered. Some guns have loaded chamber indicator

I just quick found an image google and not exactly like that and yea I get your idea about that. I still double check inside anything.

Springfield Armor!?! Believe or not, I went there for a job interview in almost 8 years ago. It was only 20 min away from our old house. :D Yeah Springfield Armor is very nice design and someday I would buy it.
