Today I get to drop a a real surprise bomb on you deaf bloggers.

Stefan Heller is the real threat to deaf culture not Jane Fernandes. It's so funny see you all spending your money, directing your anger at, and even flocking yourselves toward Gallaudet University when you all should be going after Stefan Heller of Stanford University. Jane is only trying to be a leader of a deaf university while Stefan has the means to wipe deafness off the face of this planet quite soon.

The deaf militants and their followers should be going WEST not EAST to deal with the real deaf culture threats.

Doesnt this say something interesting about the narrowminded leadership of the old deaf guard and their apostles like Ryan Commerson, Ricky Taylor, Jared Evans, Brian Riley, David Eberwein, Genie Gertz, Joey Baer, just to name a handful. It seems their undying love for deaf culture and deafhood had made them too blind to see where they're really going and they actually ended up in the wrong side of the United States.

I had bad experience with her in hawaii, and thought it was just an off day for her... what happened was that she threw a nasty tantrum in front of me and my dad when my dad was pulling me out of that school so we would be set for a move to the mainland. Serious biz. It is still hard to talk about, though.

I also have heard it is a recurring pattern with her with other people. I did have benefit of doubt for her. I did try. Maybe she would be great as CEO or something, but I think she has little patience with people.. and does not deal well when things don't go her way.. and in a high visible role of leadership on the community level, that is fatal. It's not about being not deaf enough. That's just BS and misinformation, IMO.

But I really have no problems with people wanting to ask questions about the why's and the how's.. that is fair enough. It's uncool for people to tell other people to shut up.

Hey! Thanks for giving me another insight into this drama. :thumb:

Being hearing, I didn't understand all the hoopla surrounding this. Admittedly, I still don't. But, one thing I can say is, the students had better rethink what they are doing. Even if one agrees with their position, how they are acting has a profound effect on whether anyone will take them seriously, and whether change will really take place or not. I really believe they have good intentions. However, there's a saying....


"The road to Hell is paved with good intentions".

IMHO, the students are shooting themselves in the foot with their actions. If they want REAL change, perhaps, it's time to bring in a mediator and try to settle this?
 
Try to go to Deaf Blogs and News - DeafRead to gather as much you can to understand what the fuss was all about in their Gally prez protest and JFK herself. It helps since it gathers many blogs, videos, news, and more from both sides.

The primary reason is JKF's lack of leadership and her past issues as a provost and before so, too. Not really an issue about not deaf enough and audism like many thought before. As time went on esp lately, it became more obviously that she CANNOT lead the Gallaudet University. So the students, teachers, staffs, alumni, and others really have their great reason to protest.

I want proof.,,,

If President Jordan was not satisfy with her work, he would have
fired her.... but he didn't... He must be very very proud of her.

I agree that King Jordan already had lots
of faith in Jane they worked together closely for years.
Even though I did NOT always like King Jordan's attitude, but
I have to put myself aside in the working environment.

They only doing this to gain POWER... They think if they have their
way in 1988, they will have their way again this year and then
every time they have new President, they will protest protest protest everytime...

Now... we got ourselves a deaf President... Jordan...
Then when we do dump Jane and get a President that know ASL....
Then later when that President retired, then protesters will want a
Deaf President that know ASL and have deaf children... or find another reason to protest...

Keep calling the police on protesters and ban Ricky Taylor and his other supporters off Gallaudet campus.

Because Ricky Taylor hurt me so bad.... even Genie Gertz hurt me...
they are friends and they had conspiracy against me.
And they said that Jane Fernandes is the bad guy, but she isn't...

I don't know much about this protest or this Ricky character, but I do know one thing... This isn't about YOU. People get hurt, Empress.

Deal with it and move on.

But I am telling you what kind of person Ricky is...

He never forgive me but I forgave him...
That is how cold hearted he is...

I saw him in the Cafetria in 2000, and I gave that Ricky a hug...
I put my arms around him... but he didn't put his arms around me...

That is how cold blooded he is...

If he doesn't like you, watch out!!!

You are right, Empress, on one thing - it is all hearsay about Jordan and Jane but do you really have a right to go around naming people here and putting them down, how would you feel if Ridor used your name, Patxxx, (and your last name) and put you down on Internet for everyone to see? You have gone ahead and named many people with their full names here.

Remember, it is better to be the better person which means to let others find out the truth not through you, so to speak - every story has 3 stories to it - hers/his/real facts....
