Family dream house become nightmare

That s buyer's decision not seller's decision.

I didnt read that one. did they have inspector to check the house before they bought a house?? sorry if i ask you all about that one. LOL

No, she didn't ask for that. Since she's lazy to read the whole article LOL, she wants to know if the buyer ordered an inspection at that house beforehand or not.

You see, its buyer's responsibility, that relieves from "Conflict of interest" between buyers and seller. If its seller's responsibility then know what happens? Its favoritism that WILL happen way too easily. Seller can find favorite inspectors that would ignore the bad stuff and disclose to buyer nothing or maybe a bit. So, having buyer select a inspector, there is no way seller can manipulate that inspector's report.

Still, cops may not be aware that there was drug activities that have come and gone. Sometimes addict would get paranoid, pack up and move before getting bust, then how would you know for certain?
Being I gutted this house, no worries now...lol

Inspectors dont have that type of equipment nor do they check for meth. Its specialized equipment and mainly found when someone gets sick in their blood stream....too late then, damage already done.

CP, read again!
That's not what I talked about. When cops make a drug bust, are they required to report it to an owner of the house? Like "Hi, Paul, I am Officer DHB. You need to know that there was a meth lab at your house." See, I didn't use the term "if".

No, the police dont do that. It may be refered to the city building inspections and can go to nothing or all the way to condemning the building at their discretions.

If, it is reported to inspections and it does get flagged for drugs, depending on your state laws... Insurance companies can drop your coverages which then the bank steps in if owed on and can foreclose since you cant get insurance again. Other times depending on the builder ( as we had them in the city ) they can small print is you or anyone who enters your home with drugs, they can and will evict you immediately. We had entire neighborhoods that bound to this policy...

Yup, like I said state laws really varies from state to state, so don't expect all states got same laws and regulations.

not even asbeto?
No, that's why an inspection is recommended before buying. If an inpector finds that there is asbestos, the buyer can negotiate with the seller about it. Some sellers are willing to reduce the house price so the buyer pays for asbetos removal done by hazmat only and for new wallboards. etc.

If an inspection was not done, and the buyer buys the house and finds out about it, that's too bad and too late for them to negotiate with the seller after the sale.

You can say I watch too much HGTV. :cool2: Hey sono, see, I learned something from TV. Don't tell me the show is fake. :nono:
