There is no background check though black market. These black marketers don't care who you are. Just sell illegal stuff at higher price. Remember, money does talk.

Did he passed the background check? If so, he could get from other state, without background check, it could be private arm deal (or private online).

or from their families.

You can buy gun legally without background check via private sellers or private online.

Other possible - from families too.

You cannot solely assume about black market only.

Of course, gun control advocacy is trying to make every gun sales include background check. What a joke? What these anti-gun advocacy forgot is called black market. History already proved with Alcohol, bombs, drugs, poacher (Illegal hunting), even today we still have moonshiner running their stills, and so on. None of the control eliminates by 100%, and I don't think any of them had success rate more than 75%.

I wish our government mind more on domestic needs than foreign countries that got no allies with Americans and their allies. Our government's priority is so messed up, ignoring education, ignoring our own economy, ignoring citizens that is having their domestic issues while worried about whatever other countries are doing to their people.

If every gun sales include background check - it will make easier for you to blame - point at black market but only left is families or stolen.

What does it really change how he got his guns. He ignored many laws, I'm sure he wouldn't have been like "Oh wait, my plans are foiled. I can't get a gun because of these gun laws, darn."

It could be important if their source is part of a larger network of terrorist support.

Okay, here is question... Who to blame on for these daily illegal drug trades that's been going on though streets on daily basis? Government had arrested several cartels, yet we still see dope flowing on street. Nothing has changed, so who to blame?

And, when somebody stole the gun, who to blame? Gun owners? I don't think so.

The southern border between US-MX border has sh*tload of security flaws - easier for cartels to trafficking. The government have to secure the border but they didn't.

Did I say blame on gun owners? I don't blame on them if they kept it locked and secured.

yup but... that's for well-funded terrorists and criminal gangs. since the Tsarnaev brothers are not affiliated or working with any known terrorist groups... where did they get the money to get the guns from black market? but the biggest question is... where did they get the guns from? stolen? provided? bought from black market?

the guns from black market are typically priced higher than market price. but when it comes to a highly-secretive terrorist mission, they generally would not buy it from black market because words get around fast and the government will definitely know about it because of informer/mole.

another thing I want to know - why did older brother get injured from his own bomb? what happened?

Looking at the body (which shows only one side) there is no evidence of a close impact bomb explosion on him. The large gaping wound is from a surgical incision, not an explosion.

Here's my theories (for whatever they're worth, heh, heh):

1. The injury was the result of detonation of a belt bomb but a premature detonation of one of the homemade grenades they were lobbing at the police, any maybe wasn't as close to him as first thought.

2. If it was a larger suicide-type bomb, it might have been the detonator charge that went off without actually detonating the bomb charge itself.

3. There was no fatal explosion; he was killed either by gunfire or being run over by the car. The surface wounds (non-fatal) on his body were from tossing the grenades and their residual damage.

I'm also confused by the reports that the surgical incision was made in an attempt to save his life. By the looks of the lividity in his face and shoulder, and the frozen-in-death facial expression, it would appear that he was long dead in the field before any doctor could cut into him. It looked like he died face down, a little to one side, not face up in surgery.

:dunno:

p.s.
I forgot about the Betadine staining around the gaping wound. That would indicate an insicision performed by medical personnel. Usually it's done to reduce the chance of infection, which would make sense to do on a living person. So, that's just another question, unanswered.

More details about the carjacking:

...About 40 minutes after they allegedly shot and killed a Massachusetts Institute of Technology police officer in Cambridge, Mass., Tamerlan and Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, the brothers accused of the bombing, crossed the Charles River into Boston and stole a Mercedes SUV at gunpoint, briefly holding the driver hostage, according to an excerpt from the Cambridge Police Department report filed by the driver and reviewed by The Wall Street Journal. The alleged carjacking occurred at about 11 p.m. in Boston's Brighton neighborhood on Brighton Avenue, said the excerpt, which didn't name the victim.

According to the report, one of the brothers jumped out of a Honda Civic and reached in through the front passenger side window of the SUV, opened the door and pointed a silver colored semi-automatic pistol at the driver.

The gunman then ordered him to drive to Watertown and was followed by the Honda, the report said.

Once in Watertown, the victim was ordered to slide over to the passenger side, the report said. The two brothers then removed luggage from the Honda and loaded it into the trunk of the Mercedes, the report said.

From there, one of the brothers drove the Mercedes while the second sat behind the victim, the report said.

The victim told police he was driven to a Shell Gas Station on Memorial Drive in Watertown. Inside the car, the brothers "declared to [the victim] that they were the Boston Marathon bombers and would not kill him because he wasn't American," the report said.

When the victim saw an opportunity to flee, he ran to a nearby gas station where he asked the owner to call 911, the report said....

These guys were totally irrational. They didn't kill the driver "because he wasn't American" but they killed that poor Chinese student, who "wasn't American."

Another question:

What happened to the naked guy that the police took into custody? I saw the video right after it happened but no update since. It was a tall white guy with short dark hair, totally naked, out on the street that night, being loaded into the police car. How was he related to what was going on?

p.s.
It seems that the youtube videos have been pulled.

"Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was charged with one count of using and conspiring to use a weapon of mass destruction resulting in death and one count of malicious destruction of property by means of an explosive device resulting in death, according to a statement from the Justice Department.

He could face the death penalty if convicted.

Tsarnaev, 19, made his initial appearance Monday before Magistrate Judge Marianne B. Bowler in his hospital room at Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston.
The decision to charge Tsarnaev in civilian court put an end to speculation that he would be charged as an enemy combatant, a designation sometimes used against terrorists."

And GUN SHOWS. Problems, problems and problems! Now you understand why.

And now this....source = Boston Bomb Suspect Eyed in Connection to 2011 Triple Murder

In the wake of the revelations about the violent nature of accused marathon bomber Tamerlan Tsarnaev, investigators in the Boston suburbs tell ABC News they are probing whether he may have been involved in an unsolved grisly triple homicide of a former roommate and two others. The murders took place around the tenth anniversary of the September 11 attacks.
"We are looking at a possible connection with the suspect in the marathon atrocity and this active and open homicide in Waltham,'' Stephanie Guyotte, a spokeswoman for the Middlesex County District Attorney, confirmed to ABC News.
Tsarnaev, the alleged bombing mastermind who died in a fierce gun battle with police early Friday morning, had been training with one of the 2011 murder victims in an attempt to transition from boxing into a possible career in the brutal sport of mixed-martial arts.
The victims were found in a Waltham, Massachusetts apartment. They had their throat slashed, their heads nearly decapitated. Their mutilated bodies were left covered with marijuana.
It was a gruesome scene – but also perplexing to law enforcement. While drugs appeared to factor into the motive, the murderer left both the marijuana and thousands of dollars in cash behind in the Waltham apartment. While the investigation has been active for more than a year, authorities acknowledged they have had few leads.
Two law enforcement sources told ABC News that may now change, with the bomb attack prompting a fresh look into Tsarnaev's alleged penchant for violence.
Even before the bombing, police records show, there was an indication of a rage growing inside of Tsarnaev. Court documents obtained by ABC News show in July 2009 he was arrested for domestic violence after his then-girlfriend made a frantic 911 to report she was "being beat up by her boyfriend." The police report, which was redacted to hide the girlfriend's name, says that Tsarnaev admitted to responding officers that he slapped her. The case was later dismissed.
Tsarnaev had also been close to one of the murder victims, 25-year-old Brendan Mess, investigators told ABC. The two had been training together in a local gym –each helping the other with a missing element from their fighting arsenal. Tsarnaev, a golden-gloves heavy weight boxer, lacked martial arts training. And Mess, an experienced jiu jitsu competitor, lacked boxing experience.
The two sparred together at an Allston, MA gym called Wai Kru. The gym's head trainer, John Allan, provided a statement to the Boston Globe via Facebook message saying that Tamerlan "came into the gym to spar from time to time."
Tsarnaev and Mess lived just a few blocks apart in Cambridge, in the same predominantly Russian neighborhood. Authorities believe there were times Mess crashed at Tsarnaev's apartment.
It was unclear if Tsarnaev knew the other men slain, Raphael Teken, 37, and Erik Weissman, 31.
A Waltham investigator who called the murders "the worst bloodbath I have ever seen in a long law enforcement career" said Tsarnaev has now proven he had the propensity for the type of violence that unfolded two years ago.
"There was no forced entry, it was clear that the victims had let the killer in. And their throats were slashed right out of an al Qaeda training video. The drugs and money on the bodies was very strange," the investigator said.
One of Mess' relatives yesterday told investigators they thought it was odd that Tsarnaev did not attend the funerals for his slain friend. The Mess relative also described animosity between the two friends "over Brendan's lifestyle,'' two law enforcement sources said. Because it is an open homicide investigation the sources were not authorized to speak on the record.
"Given how religious the older brother was, and we have heard information from the college about how the younger brother was 'a pot head' is there a chance that Tsarnaev was angry that Brendan was selling his brother marijuana? We don't know,'' said one of those sources. "But we are certainly interested in finding out."
Tsarnaev and Mess had been socializing together in the months before the murder, according to a Massachusetts correction officer who met up with a group of fighters that included Tsarnaev and Mess at a June 2011 Mixed Martial Arts event run by Burlington Brawl, a Vermont-based fighting outfit. Tsarnaev impressed the group with his golden gloves status, but largely kept to himself during the evening.
"We were all drinking beers, but not that guy. He was drinking water,'' the correction officer said.
