I think they also want him alive, so they can question him and find out if there were any other people involved in the bombing. Or if there are other bombs out there they have not found yet.

And I think he should be read his Miranda rights. He is, I have to grudgingly admit, an American citizen. Americans are supposed to be guaranteed full due process of law, according to the U.S. Constitution.

I know all of that , but to spend a lot of money to keep him alive and then kill him it was I am having a hard time dealing with. He is a terrorist and I thought terrorists even one that an American citizen loses their rights an
American citizen when they commit a terrorist act on our soil

The right to due legal process covers everyone in America, even non-citizens.

Removing citizenship also requires a legal process. It isn't automatic.

Only in America do we treat our terrorists better than a law abiding non Muslim is treated in their country....I doubt the mother of the dead child is losing sleep worrying if this man's rights have been violated....

Massachusetts does not have a death penalty but prosecutors could seek the death penalty at the federal level.

is that not hypocritical voters dont want death penalty yet go above voters head,it makes each states laws pointless..
i have my own opinions on what should be done with this bit of crap who did this but having two sets of laws to use when it pleases just plain wrong

This young man will live a full, rich life. Massachusetts has witnessed some of the most hair raising, disgusting acts of violence on innocents and children and they've all lived far longer than those they've killed. In this state, the killers rights are more important than the victims. No one, not even the feds, will push for the death sentence because as it is, most people on death row die of old age. Only China carries it out within 48 hours.

this is true everywhere victims get little juctice....you right he get top health care education gym etc things hard working kind joe blogs wont get....law most unjust system there is.
i still dont understand federal juctice as opposed to state laws....think most people in world have problems working that out

There are very important, historical reasons why the United States is concerned with the treatment of arrested, accused, and incarcerated individuals. The crime of terrorism is especially heinous, but it is very important that the United States doesn't lose sight of one of the most important things that makes us American: our Constitutional rights.

This article explains the issue quite well, I think: The Bill of Rights was written for Dzhokar Tsarnaev | Washington Times Communities

Massachusetts? Not really, the bomb suspect will spend rest of his life in the federal prison if found guilty - very possibly at ADX Florence because bomb suspect is very dangerous person - act of terrorism and he has to lock up at the supermax.

The bomb suspect could seeking death penalty at federal level too and the bombing is capital offense.

She's pity about our government and the court system.

I know , I live in Massachusetts this is why I said to was too close to home for me. I know people that lives in Boston and I have fond memories of living in Boston and going to school there. The younger brother when back his collage campus the day after the bombing , he was there for two days and no one realize he was one of the bomber . What a cold blooded bastard he is!!

Yeah how about the guy in jail that killed his wife and went to court and won to have a sex change and Ma. taxpayers have to pay for this! This is disgusting! And we have to pay his legal fees too or some crap lie that!

The same could be said for the Afgan civilians who where the victims of Sgt. Robert Bales.

This is why we do not let victims run the courts. As bad as our justice system is, it does try to allow reason over emotion.

We have laws in America for very good reasons, it is why we have survived for so long with a diverse citizenship.

Don't worry, the patriot act got rid of all thouse pesky rights.

no. not that simple anymore. it got bastardized after courts and Senate hearings have found that what American government did was un-American.

it's called sarcasm.

Yeah, the government in another country warned FBI about him and yet they let him go. Bad mistake! So the other government was right in the first place. Those bombs wouldn't happen if he was deported or arrested. One thing I don't understand is if the other government had evidence that he was a terrorist, why didn't FBI look at it?

deported or arrested for........?

coulda woulda shoulda. I thought you know better.

The FBI did check the guy out , but the FBI did not check the older brother out when he came back from being Russia for 6 months and that is being talked about on the news . People want to know why the FBI did not keep a closer watch on the guy.
