JT - You just go on believing what you do. Your statements continue to show me your ignorance regarding CS. Quite frankly your loss.

Please, fuzzy, do you really find it necessary to go back and find apost from 3 days ago in order to start your drama all over again? And given the fact that I was replying to the following from you, my post was perfectly justified:

Oh, and one more thing (off topic) - please do clean up your many typos before you send your message into cyberspace- reading your posts so littered with it is very tiring. One or two, even three mistakes - it's okay, but you have way too many.

Fuzzy

Now, if you have a problem with me, fuzzy, I invite you to take it to private messaging where I can tell you exactly what I think with no restraint. Otherwise, stop trying to use me to recreate your drama. You have already been disciplined. Learn your lesson and move on.

I don't have time to sit and read all of the messages of two days worth at once.
I didn't went into endless, offensive tirade of personal nature AS YOU DID - my post was strictly related to the topic discussed, and I politely asked you to clean up your many typos as IT DOES make it hard to read, and not only to me but for many others as well I am sure.

BTW may I point out whenever you address somebody, be it by first, last name or a nickname you write it with CAPITAL first letter, i.e Cloggy, Fuzzy, Rick.
You wouldn't want anybody to think you are disrespectful, would you?

Fuzzy

Not if it is a screen name. You write it as identitified. BTW, my screen name does not have a capital at the beginning. And yes, you did go into a tirade, but I have no desire to discuss either grammar or pragmatics with you. Like I said, if you ahve a problem with me, take it to PM and Iwill tell you exactly what I think without restraint. Int he meantime, deafskeptic said it all. (And, that's deafskeptic with a "d" not a "D".)

Isn't it interesting that you use rick48 and Cloggy as your examples? Very significant. But if you will check, rick48's screen name is not spelled with a capital letter at the beginning, either.

Don't speak for me, and don't speak for others, speak for yourself please? :ty:

Actually, a new study in Norway has concluded that when learning speech is the goal, sign together with speech should be avoided......

Yes I know... German Experts said the same thing as what you say here but this is their opinion. Each study has different opinion to view on deaf children with CI and HA.

I respectfully disagree with their view to aviod sign when learning speech because I know from my experience.

I beleive in put deaf children into bi-bi school which is easier for them develop both sign and speech. They will know what they really are and they are not alone.

Your own word, Fuzzy

Fuzzy's post
Right now, after implantation (and clear indication that Lotte is benefiting MORE from her CI while in hearing world only), it's important to remember that right now she needs optimal enviroment for developing good hearing and speech. otherwise, what's the point of CI? there will be time for SL later on.

Fuzzy

Oh no Liebling, it doesn't - there are many hearing people who hear and speak very well yet are illiterate.

To make you understand better - you are British living in Germany. How do you keep yourself away from German language if German is everywhere? or German people?

Same with hearing children of deaf parents - unless they are living in hermetically closed deaf enclave, they live in hearing enviroment.

Fuzzy

I think you didn't get it.

It's children upbringing with health enviroment, I am referring to, not hearing or deaf enviroment. It's mainly important to help the children to know who really they are and also their health as well... Example, I choose to live better and safety place for the children upbringing. It's about health and good environment.

To answer your question.

I am an adult and decide to live in Germany and decide myself for want to learn German language and also German sign language as well. I also decided for want to learn American language and ASL which different as British language and BSL as well. What I did is my own CHOICE, not my parents.

My German hubby did not keep me here in Germany away from English language and people but give me freedom to expose anything what I like. :) I live in Germany for over 22 years and decide myself to learn German and work together with American people at work place everyday and contact British people time to time.

Oh yes many hearing people have the problem to read and writing skill. It's illiterate. (See the link in my previous post).

I support literatcy skill fully and beleive it's mainly important development for the deaf and hearing children including sign language with speech as well. Not just develop to hear the sound and speech...

I find sad that hearing parent choose to put their deaf children to hearing school and expose them to be like them... and cannot accept that their children are different as them... No wonder why deaf children feel odd to contact deaf community, deaf teacher, etc because hearing parent take their deaf children away from deaf community to become hearing person like them which is not right.

The parents will have the problems to deal with deaf children who live in hearing world with no contact with other deaf children later. Remark my word.

There are any number of causes of illiteracy in the hearing population. However, linguistic deprivation is not one of them. We are discussing the ways in which linguistic deprivation creates lowered literacy rates int he deaf population in the absence of the other variables that can be attributed to the hearing population.

Yes, that's correct... that's what I provided the link about.

May I respectfully remind you - my question to LIEBLING was- how do you keep a hearing child away from hearing enviroment?

It has nothing to do with literacy, illiteracy, langauge development, or deaf population, or "other variables".

Fuzzy

Unfortunlately yes, it's do with literacy and language development to expose deaf and hearing children. It's about good and health enviornment that the children need to know what they are and what kind of environment they live and what kind of person they are... it helps literacy skills. Without development, they will suffer illiteracy skills... Yes, the people who can hear and speak, suffer illiteracy skills. I support literacy skills fully to develop deaf and hearing children, not just develop to hear the sound and speech.

Ahh, well many are rebellious, it makes life EXCITING. My kids were for the most part mellow but they did do some rebelling.

You can't pick your parents. And parents make mistakes. And very young children do not make decisions for themselves, well except maybe picking out their own clothes. Now if a child would tell their parents how bad it is to use the oral approach then I could see being mad at them. But whatever.

Good night. :)

Yes, I aware that every parents make mistakes when they thought the best for their children.

I as mother beleive to make decision TOGETHER with my children. I make gentle and positive discipline to expose the children into respect young adult.

I let my children to pick their clothes taste what they like... I firm the limit with them and let them know what right or wrong...

The problem is the children are rebel against their parents because the parents don't want to try to understand them or listen their talk but continue to keep them from grow up into maturity young adult.

I really don't understand why the misspelling/typos are important to you...

The posters often use my screenname Liebling, Lieb or Leibling instead of Liebling:))). It doesn't bother me really... I think it make no deal to upset over correct misspelling and typos on any screennames... because it's not important to me ... *strug*

Good. I would prefer not to deal with you at all. From you statement, I will assume that you are finished with your unfounded criticism and nit picking.

What kind of a question is that, anyway except for a trap? Tell you what, why don't you answer your own question?
