Because Obama had racist-like slurs against him since the day he was nominated? Also it was Carter's 85th birthday. Just because Joe Wilson was an recent event, doesn't means his comment is based on that event. Carter was just making an observation that he has seen since 2006 about Obama ON his BIRTHDAY.

Exactly. The left wants to label it as racist simply because they don't like the fact the protesters has the right to free speech under the constitution to the freedom of speech and the freedom of assembly.

They just want to shut them up so the Gov can pass the bill and get free handouts at the expense of the taxpayers.

I'm all for healthcare for the people, it needs to be inexpensive and affordable for everyone. $60 a week for health insurance is ridiculous (from my former employer's health insurance package). That's the only reason people are opting out for health coverage because it's too expensive.

I'm in the middle ground. I don't want people to have handouts, but at the same time, health coverage shouldn't be so damn expensive. And hospitals, pharmacies shouldn't be charging an arm and leg for medicine and medical care. Why ya think people are transferring their scripts to Canada via mail order?

In fact, private insurers are buying people plane tickets to India for surgeries because it's cheaper there. A US surgery that's $100,000 can be done $10,000 for the same operation in India.

See how ridiculous the whole thing is?

You are drawing a conclusion that has not been portrayed. No one is saying protesting against healthcare is racist. What many are saying is that the healthcare protesters are, quite often, racist. That accounts for the manner in which they are choosing to protest, the intensity of their protests, and the questionable tactics they are using to protest.

Please support your claim that any private insurer in America has purchased a plane ticket for any subscriber to receive any form of health care in India.
