Ever Try To Make Your Hearing Better?

People need to accept other's deafness. I respect their religion but I am not religious myself. I am getting stem cells in order to make my hearing better, that's my choice. Others are happy being deaf.

When my mum was pregnant with me her sister took her to a fortune teller. Apparently this women pointed to her head and said that the baby, that's me, would have a problem somewhere in that area. My mum was really worried about it afterwards.

I don't believe in that sort of thing, so I wonder whether the woman knew that my uncle and aunt, on my dad's side, were deaf and guessed that I might be too!

Hehe, love the song "Waiting On The World To Change" by John Mayer, it is on my iPod.

Now I am not completely deaf, but I am completely deaf in my left ear and hoh in my right. I remember people telling me that if I pray enough, that God might restore my hearing. I am like WTF? How can something be restored if I never had it in the first place? I'm not missing anything as I don't know what it's like to have it to begin with.

Now as for hearing, people tell me I have a good singing voice, but this would be difficult as I don't have a complete set of ears to work with, but I do enjoy music, especially Darren Hayes and I usually sing along.

I remember my parents were giving me steroids [not the muscle-building kind of steroids or the bad kinds] to help save my hearing when i had autoimmune hearing loss. I had been taking that medicane until i was probably 4 years old. But when the steroids didn't help my hearing, they decided to stop giving me steroids and let my deafness come naturally. So they gave me hearing aids at 4 years old and i started speech therapy which i really despite going but i can talk pretty good like a hearing person but i have to work on some sounds like my "CH" , "SH" , and "Z" sounds. Then when i was 9 years old i had an Cochlear Implant. So overall i never had any of these really weird people try and make my hearing come back such as praying or something. My parents believed in science medicane since they work at hospitals.

when i was a stock clerk at a grocery store, i met this lady who knew sign. she invited me to her church, and i politely declined because i'm a secular humanist. a few days passed by, and that lady with a group of other ladies came to my house. i don't know where she found me, which is super creepy. so, i opened the door to see what was up.. i got asked why i wouldn't go to church. i told them i wasn't religious and they just kept grilling me. like.. okay, seriously, their religion isn't the only correct one in the world. but whatever.. and one of the ladies told me if i believed in their god, my hearing would be restored.

.....
.....

WHAT?!

i told them i was busy, and closed the door. they came by a couple more times and i didn't answer the door. it was the creepiest experience i've ever had..

LOL Call the cops!!!

I agree it's super creepy when someone you don't know found your place and knock the door. I don't like the idea of it. It came from "word of the mouth" technique. Couple of religious people came to our house. She said she got info from my sister few blocks away. In my mind, Aww sheesh!!" I politely declined and closed the door.

Like I mentioned above post # 78. Some religious people think that pray hard or go to Church will help deaf to hear. NOT!!!!

They need to realize that fact of life that God allow Deaf just be Deaf! He's trying to teach Hearing people to learn to LOVE and Communicate them!! Not Heal them!!

Sheesh
