Ever Try To Make Your Hearing Better?

That teacher should have lost her job for that.
Yeah, I agree.

Unfortunately, I got stuck with her again in the 7th grade. :(

She finally retired when I entered high school.

To improve my hearing, I play piano, listen to music, and converse a lot with people - a good source of speech correction.

I did have a teacher who was pretty mean and stupid.

She even forced her class to eat some asparagus and said that if we didn't eat it all, she would give us a low grade. Well, I got a low grade. :(

What did foods have to do with grades? Doesn't make sense. :ugh:

Yes I second that. :ugh3:

When I was a kid my mother use to make me do hearing exercises. What that is if I practice trying to hear that my hearing would get better. She believe that if a person would try hard enough they can hear.So ADers have you ever try to do odd things to make your hearing better?

Yes, my mother-in-law work hard to train my hubby to hear anything with his HA because she beleive that hearing exercise would improve his hearing sound which my mother doesn't.

I didn't do anything but there was one time when I was a kid, I was at the laundry mat because our washing machine broke or something...and this woman saw that I had a hearing aid. She asked my mother about me - and my mother told her I was deaf. The woman started wailing, kneeled next to me and lay her hands all over me - "Dear Jesus! Oh, dear Jesus! Help heal this po' child! Cure her!" This went on ...forever it seems. I was just...flabbergasted.

My grandpa told me one time when I was about 6 or 7 that if I farted really hard with every strength I had - that my eardrums would pop and then I could hear like my sisters. I never did figure out if he was serious or kidding...
:bowlol::bowlol:
OMG, I didn't even finish reading this thread. I sooo LOL at this. I am still laughing. The same thing happened to me when I was little. My friends went to a catholic charmatic church and they walked me up there and had the minister put his hands on me to heal me of my not being able to hear. It didn't work of course. I love how you tell your story. And the grandpa thing is great too

What use to piss me off is when I think about this is that all the years that have been wasted on something that can't be fix,I should have been in better schools and learing sign and other things.

When I was a kid, I was forced to listen to audio books with the hopes I would become "hearing" with my HAs. What a waste of my time when I could be doing better things or learning about more important things.

Do I want to work at improving my hearing? NO WAY! Also, I dont need to be saved neither. LOL!

Lotsa familiar refrains here as to deafness, speech, etc....ad nauseaum.....

Is that true that you do this?

yup - i guess i'll go make a video of me playing piano... although it's been far too long. best i can do is play some classic pieces like mozart or whatever. brb

oh jesus.... i'm still playing piano but it's full of errors. it's been far too long. i'm doing my best to make it cool :ugh2: I picked Bach's Solfeggio in C-minor. I seem to remember it better than rest of the pieces.

to be continued.... neighbors' starting to complain of noise since it's almost midnight.. ^_^ will try again in the morning

I don't think I will be able to hear your mistakes. I do look forward to seeing you play though.
