emission , oxygen senor

hey why not find on ebay if they have it.. you may can order it or not.. or something.. i dont know if you want to do it.. up to you.. i know it can be mess.. you know i mean..
i cant trust ebay anyway..

:topic:

I always purchase items in Ebay. Never had problem with sellers. I kept check with Seller's reputation.

I checked and they don't sell them.

I found in google search and here's the link

RSR Digital Multimeter Folding Notebook Style Model MS 8207

That's the only I could find. It's a good one but cost $105!! yike!

I don't want cheap wimpy one, I've fried $24 Radio Shack Pen digital multimeter on little electric water heater 220 v connection. I was kneeling when I test the voltage... It went off like a M-80 bomb (Flash-Bannngg!!) and knocked me off the floor with such force!! I was lying on the back after explosion. :eek2: :dizzy: . I was fine but dazed by incident and LCD on multimeter still works but inside of its board was 1/2 fried and blackened, it's probe tip was half gone and melted. It was no good so I threw it away. The Pen Multimeter should handle 400v AC but it didn't. I bought it back in early 90's :rofl2:

The pix show back of Pen Multimeter. I don't have front part anyway but it's small LCD screen with 4 selectors, ohm/AC/DC/amp.

My Subaru RS 2001 have two oxygen sensors too.

I suggest you to check Co2 with your digital multi meter and use Ohms mode then test on your oxygen sensors to make sure they are good or not. If ohms said infinite then CO2 is bad.

Many new cars made in late 90's and newer possibility have 2 o2 sensors. My car has 2. I heard that some Toyotas have 4 of them.

yep - most cars have typically at least 2 sensors including my 1999 Saab - one in engine and one in back. Perhaps some toyotas have 4 of big truck like Tundra/Tacoma?? :dunno:

Yeah probably the Toyota Tundra with 2 exhaust pipes, I dunno.

Durango's exhaust pipe from both Manifolds is like "y", so It use one exhaust pipe after the bottom of "y".

If it has a separate exhaust pipes, That explains why Tundra have 4 of them. See my pix of Oxygen Sensors on Durango's Catalyst Converter, you can see one on top and bottom. So given an idea that Tundra's separate exhaust system would require 4 (2 of each).

Make sense?

If anyone have Tundra or maybe quickly find Tundra out in parking lot and spy on what's under it. Tell us later after you're done. Hope you don't get arrested by cops :giggle:

PS: What puzzled me that Durango only have one Catalyst Converter on one end connected to one Exhaust manifold and pipe go to middle of "y"and other Manifold end to pipe is straight to exhaust pipe. Chrystler is taking shortcuts.. I think I found the violation of smog law :giggle:

PSII: Durango's muffer look like it is almost 4 ft long and 2 ft wide!?? :eek2: No kidding. Be happy to post pix with measure tape if you don't believe me.

Hahahahahaha! No way I will check someone's Toyota Tundra without the owner's permission. I can probably check it at the Toyota dealers but I don't want to get bothered by the dealers trying to sell a car, ha.

Yeah, it might be possible 2 exhaust pipes but who knows which Toyota has 4 of them or not.

Get the Fluke!
It's built-in fuse and not worry about destory the multimeter again if turned Ohms during voltage drop by accident just blow up the fuse and no harm to anything to multimeter.

My father own Fluke (forget what model) for almost 20 years and it still work great. Fluke measure up to 1000V ac and dc, and 20A.

Why he bought it because he need one for test on high volt capacitors from 80's to 90's TV for repair.

I got shocked from DSLR's capacitors few times. It's 330v DC that's worse than outlet 110v AC. Geez.

Now I hope I don't get shock from ignition coil pack (from vehicle) which it's 10,000v to 30,000v. Thank god mostly newer use COP (coil on plug) that's mean it don't use ignition coil pack anymore (more safely and easy to test)

I kept putting off buying Fluke Digital voltmeter. I was planning on buying one 15 years ago. Then the newer model have handheld oscilloscope and all the nice amenities l wanted cost over $800 and was planning on saving money for that but ended up needing for something else.. My friend from Ireland bought Fluke 80 series and love it. At my work, many Electronic Technicians buy Fluke.

I currrently have Telectronix oscilloscope that I haven't used it for 10 years. It's sitting collecting dust until I find something useful.

I've been shocked with Ignition coil before. Yeah, It's lot worst than 120v ac.. Back in mid 80's I"ve asked my oldest brother to hold Sparkplug attached with wire for me. I fired up the engine and watch him jumping up and down. I was being mean to my brother cuz he's gullible (I was the youngest in the family tho). :giggle: I've been shocked many time before, often 120v. Several times Ignition coil (Some time on small engine and few time automotive).

My worst experience was a minibike got throttle stuck and I had to stop the engine by covering bare sparkplug clip on sparkplug with my hand and hold it till it dies Ouch!!.... (If I pulled the sparkplug wire out of sparkplug, spark would keep jumping to sparkplug, keeping engine running and I was on runaway minibike crashing under my brother's 64 Chevrolet Impala and I had to act real fast before I damage the engine. I went zzzt zzt zzt zzt zzt zzt zt zt :dizzy: I got :Owned:)

One time 1,400v ac on back of old 50's style oscilloscope tube which I thought the socket wasn't plugged in correctly and I pushed it while it's on. My finger stuck on for a second and I yanked out. Ouch!! It did burn "pin hole" on my finger but not deep. (in fact that I replaced 1/2 amp fuse to solid billet fuse of same size which may be around 100 amp cuz it kept blowing out 1/2 amp and don't care if oscilloscope catch on fire on 100amp billet fuse. I was crazy back then so that's why) I threw the oscilloscope away cuz it's no good plus replacement tube diode (similiar to 50's or 60's TV transistor tube) were expensive to replace for old equiptment. Ain't worth it.

Every high voltage shock felt like a hammer banging inside of my arm.

The latest shock I had was 6 years ago when I was hooking up new outdoor light and forgot to turn off or trip the fuse. I touched live wire (white and black) and went zzzztt :dizzy: . I immedialy let it go and my wife saw everything what I did :eek2: . She said Be careful!! It was just a minor shock to me which isn't bad cuz my hands were dry..

I did accidentally cut 120v live wire with my new wire cutter while re-arranging wiring in basement and it blew with firecracker bang and cause hole on my cutter :eek2: but didn't get shocked.

My durango and jeep use COP . It's very nice to have it!! But be extra careful when removing and placing it on flat surface. If dropped COP, good luck replacing expensive COP.

i notice a warning light that went on... i was thought it was related with brake thing.. but not.. then i was thought it was related with A/C but not..
then i was thought it was emission.. somehow i went to autoshop and they said it is oxygen senor..

what do you think?
can you tell me what i should do?
should i clean engine fuel injection before i go autoshop for oxygen senor repair or what?

let me know thank!
Hi, I review your post. What kind of vehicle and what year model do u have?
Was there MIL on? MIL stand for Malfunction Indicator Light like "CHECK ENGINE" or "SERVICE ENGINE SOON". Did you review the repair order paper from the shop that they indicates O2 sensor like Trouble code 44 or 45 or
P0171 or P0174? Let me know if u see any Trouble codes or DTC on the RO paper. Have a nice day

1996 Ford Thunderbird V8 4.6L do have four oxygen sensors.

Hi, yes, four O2 sensors on OBD-II vehicles that begin after 1996 to present,
some vehicles have 3 O2 sensors. On 4 and 6 cylinder engines use 2 or 4 O2
sensors. On V6 or V8 engines use 3 or 4 O2 sensors. One O2 sensor mount on front of cat converter, other O2 sensor mount behind cat converter that mean
the vehicle have 2 or 3 cat converters. I ll explain abt the cat converters later
cuz I have to go. See u in post smile

RO paper? I use OBD-II Trouble Codes - OBD-II DTC Trouble Codes Repair Help Site and you will save tons of time.

Yes, I do enjoy to fixed anything for many years so I just started at college for automotive technology for gasoline and diesel.

Check it out. I tried it and I love it!!

PicoScope Automotive Diagnostic Software - the easy answer to vehicle diagnostics

It's much cheaper than Fluke Scope.
Hey, I heard about PicoScope in Motor Age magazine. 2 or 4 channel? I'm thinking to buy 4 channel PicoScope. I currently own my 2 Fluke #88 DVOMs and #98-II scopemeter and old SnapON scanner MT2500 updated to 2001. I need to update my vintage scanner and scopemeter by purchase new high
tech diagnostic equipments like your PicoScope and other PC OBD-II softwares I'm a master technician at 76 gas station, hold ASE MASTER TECH AND L1 certs and licensed smog check technician.
