Here in Oregon, we vote by mail. No lines, no waiting. In fact, Kay and I voted several days ago so we could kick back and wait for the good news. :applause:
That is what I thought haha

Something has occurred to me about the ads. I know Reba talked about so many being in one of the battleground states. But the dose some of us received was from location in a different way. Those along a state border got two states worth.

I get my TV from St. Louis, MO even though I live in Illinois. With the border going down the river we got ads for both states. I have a feeling that those along other state borders got a similar double dose of ads.
My sympathies. :giggle:

Incredibly no, I've voted in every election since I was eligible to do. Very proud to say that too....win or lose, I voted.
Me, too. One election, I had been to the ER for a severe hive attack the night before and pumped with meds. Not feeling too great on election day but I made it to the polls.

Where do people vote at? in oregon you do it through the mail. I have never seen a voting place anywhere in salem. weird. I didn't vote, sorry but my parents didn't. they marked it on the paper and ran it to the mail box...nothing funny happened. :(
I'm sorry that you missed out on the experience. Election day in America is a very special event.

My sympathies. :giggle:

I think you probably got a lot more than we did. The news made is sound as if the ads started coming so much earlier and likely more each day. But I did get to thinking about what was running where!

After the primary election we didn't get much political advertising. I was kind of surprised. Maybe one Trump and a few Hillary each day, and two or three local/statewide candidates.

We didn't get much Trump/Hillary but two or three local/statewide candidates each break for commercials the last month or so. I am not sure how many that all adds up to per day but it got intense. It was mostly Missouri because they had more statewide races than Illinois did.

In my area there was non-stop Anti-Trump ads...I turned the channel every time they aired...

I know that all schools are opened and nothing on the day changes. I am pretty sure no churches were rented out, I would notice that, I live by a lot of churches. But I think that the state capital might have been a poll, but it looked dead all week long and on the 8th not a lot was happening downtown either. It is crazy actually.
My granddaughter had no school on election day there are signs up saying where each ward vote for in my city . I live in a small city so using churches works OK , this might not work for bigger cities .

You were never unfortunate enough to be ill on that day?
Really!?! You had to ask something like that?

And no, I do not recall ever being too sick, if sick at all, to vote on election day

Every state has it's own way of doing elections. Some states may even have counties that do it differently.

Looking at this website and based on what DeafNerdMommy and Chase said - they do live in Oregon, so would know - Oregon does not have polling places anywhere. It's all by mail. http://sos.oregon.gov/voting/Pages/voteinor.aspx

Oregon may be by mail but they also are allowed to drop off their ballots at the courthouse on Election Day.....

I muted all the Trump ads and turned the channel , I did this every time he was on TV ! I muted Hillary too ! I thought both candidates sucks ! This was the worst election in my life !

I dropped off a ballot for one of my elderly neighbor one election , she called me b/c she was too old to get out and vote , I was glad I was home when she called me.

I was going to clarify that, but figured it was still by mail because they mail the blank ballots to <most of> the voters, right? ;)

Washington also votes by mail. My friend says she likes it that way; in fact it was easier for her ever since her accident- she would not have been able to handle standing in line and walking.

North Carolina was a "battleground" or swing or whatever you want to call it so we got increasing ads for presidential, governor, Senate and all that every day all day and just about every commercial break. When the Trump ads first started airing- one of my parents would mute the tv...

Voting place- mine was the local middle school. variety of places. We also had early voting.

The blessing of watching TV via cable DVR. Except for the news, we record almost all the programs we want to see and fast forward thru all the commercials.

The commercials are so loud, so you have to turn it down. I don't have a cable. I think I mentioned it here a few years ago that I was so sick, but I did show up, and the line was sooo long. At least I voted.

I was surprised he won a few Blue states like Ohio and Pennsylvania.

It's weird that The Simpsons predicted Trump running for President.

Portland oregon is rioting because Trump was elected.... they are blocking roads and stopping traffic over something we can't change at the moment.

I read there are protests in Philadelphia & NYC.
