Declaration of Occupy Wall Street

Who pays for all the expenses of these "occupy" movements? That is, who pays for the extra police hours, the massive clean up of debris, the lost business, overflowing toilets, vandalism, etc.?

That gets me wondering. Suppose OWS does become a recognized, organized organization with leadership positions of authority, then wouldn't the cities have something to sue against in order to re-coup the cost?

With all the YouTubes and blogs and TV and so forth, don't you think there is enough exposed? Frankly, I am already tired of it.

You don't have to come in and read this thread. No one put a gun to your head and say you must read. If it gets too much for you or that has become "boring," well, no need to continue with the reading, right?

If they try that, sayonara folks. Boom! Civil war.

Someone has to expose the exposers. I feel obligated, since it looks like a Liberal lynching over here. Seems they don't want to get involved. :hmm:

Already back to this, where you try to brush me aside. Less than 24 hours. Good boy. Being tired of something includes the occasional dealing with arrogant pricks. That, apparently, comes with the territory.

It feels good to shout at the devil, anyway. :giggle:

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of OWS movements. I understand some of their complaints but good grief!

Denver should be interesting tonight and tomorrow. Oakland Sunday and Portland Sunday night and Monday

I am very tempted to go to Denver tonight

I'm not! hahaha...no way. I appreciate being educated not just on history but also on a variety of other subjects that I took as electives but thank god for that one year of intensive graphic design schooling. I hardly slept that year but it was worth it.

I had to reeducate myself as well. It started with economics at a good university. But I got nowhere after graduation. I started doing maths and statistics and working part time and full time on and off at various universities before moving onto a steady occupation. Having a disability (50% hearing in one ear only) and a disease (diabetes) did not make life easier. The effort paid off after a while though. I still wonder sometimes what would have happened if it had not.

Well, we can go round and round with this. The lefts' posts are defensive in nature; the rights' posts are attacking the people in the protest. That is the way it has gone for most of this thread. Kind of easy for me to "fall" into the trap of assuming the dog comment was a continuation of status quo.
To misunderstand the first time around is fine, but to continue harping on it after the real meaning is pointed out to you... not so much... I'll let you off with a light flick to the wrist. *flick* ;)

The Boston Tea Party was violent..

Was it organized or not? If it had happened today, people would be criticizing the protestors for maserquading as Indians.

However, protests or standing up for beliefs, historically, have some violent outcomes.

Civil rights movements, anyone?

The Russian Revolution and the take over the Csar family..

a few more.

Thak you. This country is founded on rebellion.

In 1787, Tom Jefferson sez . . .

And what country can preserve it's liberties if their rulers are not warned from time to time that their people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. The remedy is to set them right as to facts, pardon and pacify them. What signify a few lives lost in a century or two? The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants.
