Alright. Let's gas them out. Time to wave a string of sausages in front of the leader...

I supported their right to protest, but I no longer support this group. Go home folks; Momma is ringing the dinner bell.

My point.....saying "dog" wasn't "shoveling deeper into the divide". And btw I am 100% against the occupiers going home. Please keep protesting.

Right. Keep them all in the city center. Got it.

Sure, keep protesting without permits. God forbid, should they become law abiding.

Pigs? Dogs? No wonder the Left has such dislike for the the Right. You keep shoveling deeper into that divide. Then blame the Liberals for not cooperating and "hastin to be uproared" and "poopin' on da police ride" or whatever.
Huh? So these two guys alone are responsible for creating the divide? What happened to "they're just individuals behaving badly"? Heck, as TXGolfer pointed out, he was referring to an actual dog that Occupy Denver elected as their leader. As for pigs, well, it might be an apt description considering the diseases going around thanks to unsanitary conditions. When people start referring to "Zuccotti lung", you know it's not exactly a bastion of cleanliness: http://www.nytimes.com/2011/11/11/n...-street-health-is-a-growing-concern.html?_r=1

Nope. People that post these two guys (and others) on a dartboard have just as much share of the blame for that divide. "If you are not with me, you are the enemy." Look, it is not exactly harmonious over here in political debate-land. If you read further, I call for them to go home. I stop supporting them in any way. Keep reading. You will see. Is it too late for me to say that? Am I branded a pig/dog lover?

BTW, why would a guy post dozens of negative videos and news stories about the people protesting, then say he wants them to continue? For the life of me, I cannot understand.

Rather humorous to see. I post some items while others gnash at the person doing the posting.

Zuccotti lung? Ye gods. What is that? Lemme take a look see.
*hacks*

Two words. Blog Material

Although condoms are often available on-site, Dr. Tierno said the protest’s evolution to private tents, from sleeping out in the open, had raised the risk of sexually transmitted diseases. The site’s pounding drum circles, he added, could lead to hearing damage. He compared conditions at Zuccotti Park to those in a hajj — the pilgrimage to Mecca, in which whole groups of people have come down with respiratory infections in a short time — and those experienced by the flower children of the 1960s, when, he said, communal living situations created problems with sanitation and sexually transmitted diseases.

Just begging for trouble.

Not me. I have been asking questions, not bashing you. You just post stuff written by others. I think you prefer to play bash, then you can flex for the crowd. Anyhow, you can continue your quest. I can always find other things to do. I find discussing this protest to be boring.

Ok.

Saw this at the end of that article:

Of course, contagions may not be confined to the park population. On Wednesday evening, at the western end of the plaza, where walking paths tighten by the day and an “Occupy Paw Street” station has been assembled for protesters’ dogs, Mr. Cipolla solicited donations, shouting at passers-by through a megaphone.

We’re the biggest tourist attraction in New York,” he said. “And we shake everyone’s hands.”

I get that and never said otherwise. However, when you say things like "Pigs? Dogs? No wonder the Left has such dislike for the the Right", it kind of flies against all the "don't blame the whole for the actions of a few" rhetoric. Perhaps you were arguing that these words are just an example of rhetoric common on the right?

And don't you suppose that refusing to acknowledge that nobody was actually calling them dogs, but referring to an actual dog named Shelby (who's a beautiful dog, by the way), isn't exactly helping matters either?

Well, we can go round and round with this. The lefts' posts are defensive in nature; the rights' posts are attacking the people in the protest. That is the way it has gone for most of this thread. Kind of easy for me to "fall" into the trap of assuming the dog comment was a continuation of status quo.

:nono: not fan.....expose. People respond better to visuals.

Well, all they need to do is read the blogs and the rhetoric from the Conservative viewpoint, and they will all come running over to your side. Got it.

I actually find it a case where you are displaying the differences between sides to ensure the gap grows. "Those disgusting slobs" does not make them want to fold up their tent and subscribe to the WSJ, ya know?

I posted about the dog yesterday. (#1846) No biggie though with close to 2000 post we are all going to miss one here or there.

I see it as exposing the people of the protest....we disagree.

With all the YouTubes and blogs and TV and so forth, don't you think there is enough exposed? Frankly, I am already tired of it.
