Gee, I wonder if someone was told not to pet a dog because it will bite, then pet the dog and get bit, if they are a hero .... or an idiot

What does that have to do with this county's citizens' right to protest?

What...just because they support a cause so opposed to your extreme political stance, they all of a sudden have no rights and are rioting?:P

Well, the man suffered a skull fracture. It would take a pretty hard hit to cause something like that. A canister being shot into the air at high speed, that'll do it.

I don't have to. The film proves it. And the world is watching. What a shame for America.

Innocent until proven guilty ..... the video shows projectiles being fired in the direction of the police before they shot cannisters of tear gas.

and, btw, police officers are legally permitted to use force.

Just by isolating this comment, you could be for either side and I would not know which side you are defending. Think about that...

He was hit in the face. He was facing the police. Think Steinhauer. Where would the projectile have had to come from to hit him square in the face?

They are not permitted to use excessive force, and there are plenty of cases in the law books to show that.

Police officers are legally permitted to use force, especially when objects are being thrown at them.

The national Guard was legally permitted to use force at Kent. They were called in because the protest had gotten out of hand.

Deal with it.

Even if the guardsmen faced danger, it was not a danger that called for lethal force. The 61 shots by 28 guardsmen certainly cannot be justified. Apparently, no order to fire was given, and there was inadequate fire control discipline on Blanket Hill. The Kent State tragedy must mark the last time that, as a matter of course, loaded rifles are issued to guardsmen confronting student demonstrators.

The National Guard had been ordered NOT to use live ammo. They did so. They murdered people as a result. The protest was not out of hand. Like I said, you weren't there, and did not even know what they were protesting until I told you. Don't continue speaking out of ignorance.

The police in Oakland had been told to exercise care and to only use action that would insure the safety of the protestors. They did not. And not only did they disobey orders, they refused to assist the very person they critically injured. He had to be carried from the area and taken to the hospital by private citizens. Police officers are, above all, sworn to protect and serve.

There is considerable evidence that the police didn't do their job given all the facts re Scott Olsen.

National Guard was in the wrong for killing unarmed protestors. They were not legally permitted to shoot.

It was believed that one National Guard panicked and pulled a trigger. And then other National Guards reacted after 1st shot. It was very unfortunate.

The Kent Massacre...
